is there a cannon explanation for this?

So like, I was looking at the map as one does. And like, I realized, the darkness has kindof spread over Twain Mansion, kindof, and that brown stuff (Which personally I think kindof looks like decay but im definitley wrong about that) is kindof leaking into the darkness. Is there a reason for that or is it just kindof, like that? Also has it been like that since before the Silent Expanse released?

If you'll notice, the black around the Silent Expanse and the black around the Twain Manor are different.

Silent Expanse black is a purple tinted black, which shows as far as the eye can "See" - as in, dern's darkness rules over the Silent Expanse.

Twain Manor black is a brown tinted black. This is not decay, decay appears around where light and dark fall far out of balance. The lore doesn't say the Twains had any specific way to fight the decay, or even knowing about decay. The Twains warred against corruption, which is different. Twain manor black doesn't have a specific canon explanation, but we could safely infer that it has something to do with the high concentration of spirits and association with the dead, not dern.
