Hey, here goes my first proper thread that isn't just talking about me music or a report,
so yea, don't crucify me if my formatting is bad

    Fruma.
Fruma is one of the biggest mysteries in Wynncraft, there's barely any information about the place, but it's of major importance, I'll spare you the details since I'm sure everyone here knows that Fruma is an awful place.

Instead, I'd rather talk about what I wish to see in the Fruman province.
This is just my opinion and I'm down to listen to everyone's thoughts so feel free to gimme feedback

Now, we know that Fruma's magic is incredibly powerful, Royalty and their Knights especially, so what if the player steals their magic?
What I mean is, canonically, we're too weak to defeat the Dernic forces and the Darkness in general, I mean it took great effort just to rid Orphion of his Parasite, so what if we will go to Fruma in order to acquire stronger magic from Royalty?

I've spoken about this with several people before but I'd like to see, for the first time in Wynncraft history:
    A split questline.

Context: The sparks of a Revolution begin to appear as the people of Fruma grow exhausted and enraged from having to suffer at the hands of the Matriarchy, so people secretly begin to look to a leader, who promises they will save Fruma from its oppressors. However, the population fears what could happen, they're outclassed, they can't compete with that extremely powerful magic, and that's where the player comes in.

You, as the player will get the chance to join in and sabotage the Queendom by destroying structural elements of its society, whether that is actual buildings, supply routes or people.
    BUT HERE'S THE TWIST!
The player can also choose to instead help the Matriarchy, and report to the Royal Guards/Royalty, so you'd be a double agent.

"But Mindless that sounds a lot like what we've seen in An Iron Heart!"
Did you forget I said questline?

You would have to pick a side after the first quest, and then one of the sides of the Questline would be locked behind a requirement you can't achieve.
Either way, in the end, the player steals the Royals' magic, whether that be after bringing them down through Revolution, or as a reward from the Queen for stopping it.

What did you think of this little theory/wish/thought?
    Lemme know!

Some currently existing content also tries to make different endings of the quest, such as An Iron Heart and Aldorei's Secret
And your idea of splitting it into multiple storylines in the middle of the quest is pretty interesting actually!

Similar to The Hero of Gavel, players can make their own decisions and choose how do they want to shape their Wynncraft journey, which makes the gaming experience more realistic and diverse. I reckon this would reduce the boredom after reaching the endgame as some players would try to explore different endings of the story/ the quest as if they were exploring secret discoveries!

I am also excited to see what are they going to do in Fruma and Dern

Most of all I really want to see the Fruman royal family story get fleshed out in a satisfying manner, and not leave people thinking that the characters involved are one dimensional. The Queen of Fruma, who is a very important character, should get a lot of characterization and actual motives behind why she's doing what she does, so she doesn't fall flat and doesn't act like a one dimensional bad person. Then again, the CT's been getting better at writing characters, so I've got high hopes. I also hope Fruma will be fun to explore

I hated that godawful quest bro. I put off doing it for so long too so I could experience it with a friend who is new to the game. My least favourite quest of all time.

I like this idea! I have high hopes for Fruma.

But seriously i love this suggestion since get to decide what side of the quest you help.
Maybe you could also pretend to help the royals but report to the revolutionaries to double cross the queen instead.

How about a upgrade to our already unlocked spells? Spells have 3 levels but the quest could give us a 4th level of a spell.

When I said steal their magic I meant in a canonical sense haha, not necessarily as practical spell you can use, so your character would get a boost in power before heading to Dern.

But that's really interesting, it would be really cool to see new spells, though I don't know how that'd work, maybe an item you can use like the Festival rewards or something

I think the split questline idea is cool, but then theres the issue of having to level a entirely new character to just do a single quest.

Quests like Aldorei's Secret and Iron Heart aren't technically splits in quest line in my opinion. This is mainly because how quests are structured in Wynn are not linear, and more like side quests. Almost none of them actually changes the outcome of your future gameplay; only the quest rewards and outcome that probably won't ever come back in future quests. However in this suggestion you are talking about how choosing splits can actually cause different gameplay for the players if I'm not mistaken. This would be an amazing idea to implement different quest lines. At least theoretically. There are some faults & disadvantages with split quest lines though:

    - Development. Having a different quest line will be really hard to manage and develop. This doesn't only mean pushing content for just the game, but for other sides of the story. This makes the work doubled if they want to achieve the same amount of progress they have been releasing each year. Unless you want half the content and still the same effort. And if you want to have different locations and effects on the world, those will have to be client-side which can be really tricky if it was pushed on a larger scale.

    - "MMO" side of the genre: When having different splits in the stories, I assume things like locations, and quests will also be a bit different. This can cause a split in the playerbase which can be detrimental to the "Massively Multiplayer Online" side of the genre. If each split causes different dungeons and stuff, it'll be made for people to play together. But since Wynncraft encourages multi-saves, it may be fine.

    - Story: Having 2 splits can cause inconsistencies in the game's lore (although alot of them needs reworks already but luckily the Wynn rework team has done that for us).

Imo, I think it's better if you can have different splits but ultimately end up in the same result. This gives better replay-ability and in my opinion, a better option if they ever want to do something like that.

We could just have a menu to switch out spells instead. Like how Pokemon can only know 4 moves at once, but they can easily switch out moves for others.

I’d figure between 4 to 8 extra spells for each class would be sufficient (8 to 12 in total). It would be quite amount of work, but still manageable and without leading to redundant spells. Jaydon’s Spell Perks would also be cool too.

    You're overthinking this.
The bottom line of this questline would be the player receives the Magic of Fruman Royalty, whether that's by overthrowing the Matriarchy or helping it.

It's not such a difficult thing to achieve imo, it's a simple NPC switch, instead of having the Queen in her throne room, you'd have an elected leader instead, which has different post-quest dialogue, but other than that questline, the area stays the same.

And while yes it might interfere with the lore, it's an aspect I think would be extremely interesting to explore.
Also, I don't agree with you saying it would split the playerbase, that's dumb. You think the playerbase is split by what quest reward you choose?
