Secret Location?

Hello there,

Today my eye caught of a place in the mountains that seems to have buildings/ruins. You can spot it easily from the Desert East Upper region if you look up at the mountains north from the Invaded Barracks. I was not able to find any way to get up there. I'm sure it's nothing important, but I had to ask. Has anyone been there? Is there any way to get there? Maybe a super-secret path without barriers leads you there?

But as I've noted down, the paths that one would think may lead there are blocked off by barriers.
If you try getting there from behind the mountains, you'll find no success as well.

You could try movement spell spamming up there

 

I did try it, but to no avail. I'm sure there is some spot that works, but my level and items aren't really good enough to spam teleportation spells (am trying this in a wizard profile) for more than a few seconds anyways.

 

Hé! I tried to get there too once, with just as much succes as you sadly... I think there's actually a few other places similar to this on the map, but I'm not sure.

 

Is that possibly a building where you are teleported into during some quest/secret discovery? I mean, the buildings don't look right for that at all (there is literally an open tent), but why would anyone build something like that in an inaccessible area?

 

That's a good guess. I'll try to be careful while doing quests. Still, the question as to how to get there remains unanswered...

 

The only way I could imagine getting up there is with shaman flight.
If anyone has a screenshot of that area of the map in 1.18 or a prior version, I'd like to know if this structure is there.

 

Decoration maybe

 

So I did a little digging using the Wayback Machine, and even though navigating through the older versions of the maps is hard since it seems to try to load both the current map and the old one I managed to see that this structure was not there before The Silent Expanse. Don't really have time to provide more thorough proof (screenshots) but you should be able to find it if you jump to early 2019. Now the question is if this was introduced with 1.19 or with 1.20.

 

the entire thing is covered in barriers, however i doubt the area is relevant in any way. it's just some ruins

i would imagine it's probably something a CT member added out of boredom without intending it to be accessible

it's really annoying that areas like this have barriers though, especially this specific cape because it would serve as a nice shortcut to the ocean if it were not like this

There are a bunch of those ruins, like f. e. around the Dern Portal. They are really just deco, but still a nice detail and certainly smth mysterious!

 

Can't wait to get to The Silent Expanse to see those ruins :>
I'm not sure if there should be a way to access them. I feel like it's nice to have a mysterious area that is just there.

I feel like some mountainous areas that are blocked off really have no reason to be blocked off. This mountain area between the ocean and the desert should not be blocked off, since its not really dividing areas that you do not have equal access to from the beginning. What I'm referring to is, for example, the mountains between Wynn and Troms, or Wynn and The Silent Expanse. Those mountains have a reason to be blocked off. The player isn't supposed to be in The Silent Expanse before level 100, or in Troms before completing a certain quest (if I remember correctly).

 

I just tried to go there by using warp, but there are barriers around the structure, so I guess we have no way to go in

 

Yeah, more than one thing like this in the game.
This random house in the tutorial comes to mind:

 

I've checked on the build server and can confirm that this area contains:
- A free mythic dispenser
- Instructions on how to dual-wield weapons
- 6400000 liquid emeralds
- Directions on how to enter Fruma
- A copy of the entirety of Wynncraft's main storyline
- Instructions on how to open the Dern portal

I've always assumed that this house would become accessible after the release of Fruma, it always seemed weird to include it in the map

 

Now only thing that's left is reaching that area :>

The ones around the Dern Portal we're not originally decoration, they merely became that when they were sealed off with barriers
