Recommended gear for speedrunning

Hi there! I'm level 30 atm, me and a friend is aiming to get good times on speedrunning the dungeons in this game, especially Decrepit Sewers and Infested Pit. I'm playing as a Mage, so what are some good stats I should be looking for to kill the bosses relatively quick?

I have the teleportation and meteor spells, so the part before that is easy enough to get quickly, but I'm struggling to match the damage output of my archer friend, as he can output 100-150 damage quickly, while the best wands I have is between a very slow 44-64 to a very fast 9-12. This is not optimal in the slightest, so whats the recommendation here? I haven't played Wynncraft in years, so excuse my ignorance.

 

is there a reason you're trying to "speedrun" dungeons at level 30 instead of playing through the game's actual content?

if all you care about is an optimal dungeon time then you'll need to be level 100 anyway - damage won't be a concern anymore and you can obtain even better mobility

just chill and play through the game before returning to speedrun
if you rly wanna speedrun the dungeons go to wynndata and use the search function to find some good armors
however half the low level armors arent on the trade market so you should prolly get 100 before tryna speedrun

 

Well I think this is rather obvious, to get a good time on the leaderboards.
I have a time right there now from a couple of years ago when there were no runs, but my time is really bad, so I was aiming to improve it significantly.
I'm not much of a story lass, I find the gameplay loop more fun than getting involved in the game's lore.

Well I don't think my armor is holding me back? I have some pretty decent armor for my level, so I was aiming to see if I could improve my wand strengh.

The Haros' Oar seems like a pretty decent wand to use, I'll try to obtain it. My armor is alright, so I'll go for that wand first.

 

if the only thing that you enjoy in wynncraft is speedrunning dungeons my honest suggestion to you is to find a game that better suits your interests and play that instead

the strongest level 30 wand won't be enough to get a competitive leaderboard time - level 100 might not be strictly necessary for that, but you'll have to be pretty close at least

 

Well this isn't helpful, telling people to not play this game. You should read what I said again, I do not care for the story, but I enjoy the gameplay loop. This means that I have the most fun when it comes to the loop of repeatedly doing quests, slaying monsters, selling gear, and repeat. Speedrunning is just one part of that.

 

It appears there was a misunderstanding. To you two veterans, "Speedrunning" means one thing: Running through a dungeon at max level with endgame gear and trying to get a time better than any other player. To Leftist, my guess is it's just their word for trying to get through a dungeon faster than they could previously, it doesn't matter if someone who is a higher level than you can do it faster, it's about self improvement, enjoyment, and gaining XP.

I'm just here to point out that I've noticed this sort of thing happening more and more often on the forums and discord. A lower level player enters the online community with a question, and instead of a conversation about their problem, or attempting an actual solution, the answer is more and more "don't bother, it's not worth your time," "You should just lootrun," "Just get to level 105 and get a couple tomes and mythics then do this" "Just use morph-bmask, actually putting effort into lower levels is pointless to us."

Please, other forums users, if you're not going to provide somewhat relevant, helpful advice, let someone else put in the effort you weren't going to anyway.

people can do whatever they want if it makes them happy - all i did was provide my honest advice, which is that playing though the game's other content is probably more interesting than doing the game's easiest dungeon over and over, and that you'll need to be an endgame level to put up a good leaderboard time
