Can the chain from Chain Lightning inflict poison?

title, i just tought it would be good if u have poison and theres a lot of enemies(and you dont have the Plague majorid) you could easly spread poison that way tho idk if it works

 

no, chain lightning doesn't work like that. chain lightning only affect raw melee damage.
for poison builds i suggest courage for actually dmg boost to poison

 

I think they means as for spreading the poison effect moreso than increasing the damage.

From my research it should be able to also spread poison to mobs hit along the chain tho If its not for some reason I haven't tested it in a while so it may have been altered recently. But as soul said typically courage or curse tend to be more effective as they boost damage and depending on the class spells can be as if not more effective at spreading poison than chain lightning. Moves like ice snake, meteor's lasting aoe, arrowstorm, totem, or war scream come to mind
