Some people seem to have some really pessimistic views on the release date. We know it's coming later than a usual update (which it currently is anyway), but beyond that, we know very little.

We've had 3 monthly updates (which is how many we had for 1.20) and I personally can't see them doing another 5+ of them and leading into a release at the end of the year.

I think we'll get maybe 1 or 2 more monthly updates, followed by the usual trailer, changelog and probably a longer beta (seeing as the code has been redone).

I think we'll have 1.21 before the Festival of the Bonfire this year (assuming it's the same time - late July)

Man I have no idea why people think it’ll release at the end of this year: there’s no way the community and server can remain in one piece during that long of a content drought and I’m willing to bet the admins know this.

 

I personally don't care about the release date, for all I care release it in December 2022, but the content should be appropriate for the amount of time that we've been waiting. Considering there isn't a changelog or official release date in sight, I think it's safe to say, it's gonna be at least like 1-2 more months (maybe more, but that's like the earliest date I expect). However, from the monthly updates so far they've shown Gavel Rework part 2 and Galleon's Graveyard rework, and if that's all that's gonna be there I don't think it's enough to justify the above-average length of development. I know that they're not gonna show everything in the monthly updates and there is most likely more to this update than they've shown so far, but still a part of me is worried.

 

There's definitely more in the monthly updates than just those two things.
Of course, I cannot say what, but there is something pretty big on the horizon.
