    Here is a (short? long? idk) list of builds that I've played in recent history that aren't total garbage. (ok, some of them are pretty garbage. But most of them are cool.)

    Guide:

    Weapon Elements description (tags)
    EHP: agi / no agi
    Damage: unboosted spell damage / rough on-paper dps
    Skill requirement: X/10 (or X/10 Boss / X/10 Raid), 10 being hardest
    Quality of life: X/10, 10 being best
    Attacking cycle: Sometimes will be present for builds that have weird gameplay

    Skill requirement encompasses things like how much health sustain the build has / how easy it is to get health sustain. Can be split into Bosses (LI, AHC, EO like) and Raid performance for some builds (especially high ehp low sustain builds). Boss performance is always nopot unless stated otherwise.
    Quality of life is my subjective measure of the build's overall performance, including things like walkspeed, health regen/mana regen versus lifesteal/mana steal, movement spell cost, how easily can it kill a bunch of fodder mobs, etc

    NOTE: you want a -2 tier ataraxy for this build.
    Doesn't take much in terms of gameplay skill but you have to do the clicky clicky pretty quicky i guess.

    Very fun zoom build plus very combat competent. Tested in LI/TNA

    I wanted to try arcanist, but do even more damage! So I tried winded arcanist with 0 intelligence. Works well enough magically!
    Pretty expensive build though. Every percent of spellcost matters... since every 1% spellcost reduction is something like 0.4 meteor cost... so you really want a max cost slayer, lachesism, cardiac arrest...

    I wanted to try arcanist! Inspired by @LateOgre 's arcanist warp build (https://hppeng-wynn.github.io/build...0T40Ji0R116+c1m-O2W1g00001007lUzz++++-tB-pN-p), I tried making my own version, preferably without requiring hpr tomes and with entropy, just for kicks. And this is the end result!
    Arcanist building is in a funny spot where even though you have access to (arguably) the best dodging spell in the form of tp, you have to build such that you (almost) never have to cast tp to dodge bosses because any teleport casts get copied by chaos explosion and can lead to you feeding your face straight into a deadly combo. Having high walkspeed gets around this problem.
    Side note: Arcanist is in a really funny spot where its steady state dps lags far behind riftwalker on paper, but the reality of LI fights being relatively short (and TNA boss always moving to dodge your thunderstorm) means that they're much more comparable ingame. I haven't timed it yet but I'd bet that this build runs a faster LI time than my riftwalker warp build!

    Funny build that does damage with everything. (except charge)

    This build definitely has a learning curve. Takes awhile to get used to generalist, also lack of aerodynamics is a bit sad but it works
    RoTS offhand crutch is pretty good for quality of life though.

    I went back down to very slow attack speed (from slow) even though its less melee damage -- made mana steal more consistent and the build is overall easier to use for me. Also grabbed a bit more walkspeed in exchange for a pretty big drop in ehp (although practically I like this variant better, since its damage is shifted away from melee and onto spell, so you get hit less.)
    For ehp variation: swap intensity and simulacrum for photon and contrast. Can be swapped on the fly which is nice!

    Heh. Another generalist build. However, this one plays quite differently compared to the Alkatraz one.
    Melee dps is much lower -- you really just attack for mana and to charge corrupted. Spellspam rate is much higher -- you'll basically be constantly casting spells, compared to the alka build which plays at ~4.5 cps this is nearly double. Higher effort build but I really like it!
    High ehp, very high walkspeed. Pretty effective overall (sadly can't use RotS offhand like the Alka build in this configuration.)

    This build is so ridiculously strong for a rare weapon. Runs LI faster than the collapse variation lol (and has similar stats across the board, in ehp, walkspeed, and better elemental defense...)

    Would not recommend if its your first generalist build -- the mana is lower than the collapse build on top of miscasting a single uppercut instantly deleting half of your mana bar, so you really can't afford to mess up. Also unfortunately doesn't have a great way to heal up outside of combat -- brainwash deletes your health regen, and no RoTS access.

    I wanted to try playing assassin. But I don't like acrobat, and don't like "slow" shadestepper, and don't like clone based trickshade/echo either. So here's a "vanilla"/1.20 assassin emulation tree that uses base multihit and marked to do decent damage and plays similar to old style assassin (except without OP vanish gameplay). It's definitely not an easy build to pilot by any means.

    WARN1: If it wasn't clear from the descriptions, this is a very high stress build. Low ehp and walkspeed isn't as high as I would like, but combined with very high sustain. You'll be trading blows and heal fast but also die quickly. The video should make this more clear.

    WARN2: This build is also not budget friendly (bete noire, chain rule, electromage... and nullification of course) and also (like all of assassin tbh) kinda underwhelming compared to other classes.

    You can also try using this tree (LateOgre ed. of "vanilla" assassin) which has silent killer, shadow travel, and blade fury.

    So honestly I'm not a big fan of assassin in general -- acrobat requires.. heavy training, trickster is awkward overall (but probably has potential -- need to try/practice), and shadestepper gets to play count to 5 and then cry in backstab's tiny hitbox..., and dash... dash......
    But! This build comes with crazy high hpr and decent EHP, while still dealing decent damage! It's shadestepper on easy mode, good enough that I can enjoy gameplay. Facetank your way to victory in LI with frontstabs or set up combos and deal decent damage to bosses. (I'm pretty bad at assassin as of time of this writing.)

    (Cry in TNA boss because the walkspeed isn't high enough to chase greg well, and backstab's hitbox is tiny relative to how fast the fight moves)

    Damage: 23k spin / 51k multi, its less DPS than the nulli build idk

    This is what happens when you slap damage items on every armor piece :)
    Anyway the build plays pretty similar to the nullification build (same tree, "vanilla" style gameplay) but it feels a bit glassier and has worse lifesteal health sustain. In exchange it is considerably cheaper to obtain and has a decent bit of hpr (no rolling for -hpr!) and no -hpr% so its a bit "nicer" to play with. However the scrap consumption is pretty high since the build requires pretty high spellspam.

    ETF mixed mana mage, pushing the limits of monster meteor damage but still about 5 times tankier than the fatal build. Good movement (6 tp+snake with bonder) but much less walkspeed, lower damage. Recovers some damage from endurance if you want. Also super brainless gameplay.

    Diamond solar bracelet can be swapped for Latchkey and Intensity for basically anything (preferably giving damage) if you don't have LI / Hive completion.

    To get rid of tome sp requirement and hive requirement, swap tenuto for necklace.
    To get rid of LI requirement, swap diamond static bracelet for any bracelet with enough skill points.
    Other alternatives: tenuto, summa, enmity, etc.

    Singularity hybrid except its neither super fast nor super slow attack speed. Gets decent mage dps (beats ETF monster build above ^ in LI time). Very fun to play. Weaving spell and melee to get maximum damage and powder special charge speed is very interesting -- this build charges powder specials ~30% faster than super slow attack speed singularity, if played well!

    Extremely funny build. Nonmythic spell (hybrid) mage but never get walled again. I wish it had more walkspeed or was maybe much much stronger (why does nothing in nonmythic mage even begin to compare to singularity hybrid? very sad.)

    ETA quetz spell -- kinda like the ETF build except now its air and doesn't have infinite tp, but has fun zoom and bounce. Also can still fly fairly well with bonder offhand.
    also it has worse damage but better recovery (heal and/or lifesteal), and much better EHP

    To get rid of Hive req and tome sp, swap Intensity for anything with 4 skillpoints

    I can't say I recommend this build since it's ETW (and even has negative mana regen... it sucks....) but its a funny ETW mage that nevertheless has 16k EHP that I took through Legendary Island for a spin. No mythics but mythic tier damage + time rift + livable health is pretty cool!

    Tierstack singularity (noncrafted). Super lame but also super effective against TCC raid boss.
    DPS against LI is measured to be lower than the monster and spell/hybrid singularity builds, surprisingly, despite being higher than both on paper.
    Comfy amount of tanking power and ok mana from mana steal for healing without need for King of Hearts.

    Also slow hybrid. Funny iron armor usage
    This one isn't quite as strong as the other slayer slow hybrid builds (singularity/epoch). Frankly its nothing to write home about but its got pretty OK damage. To use it without tomes Intensity should be swapped with something that gives 5 skillpoints (ex. diamond hydro ring).
    Takes some time to get used to. I haven't really gotten good at this build myself, so no video lol
    For easy mode you can use old keeper's ring or something idk

    Nonmythic RoTS mainhand warrior (haha meme). Imagine using Nether's Car in the same build as Obsidian-Framed, except the whole thing is actually a spell build (well, heavy hybrid I guess). Tested in LI and NOL does fine (in terms of not dying); also has decent dps when it isn't getting walled.
    You could use Brainwash but then your elemental defense is well and truly dead. The lifesteal from hive helmet and the overall tanky nature of this build also helps you cast charge less, which leads to less downtime and very little tempo breaking when attacking bosses.
    However, this boss has a painful time with some legendary island bosses, especially corkus boss phase 2 and somewhat virus doctor. It gets walled out easily due to being a very fast attack speed weapon with low base damage already, and split elemental damage between three elements (earth, fire, and thunder). An alternative would be to carry a second, water powdered RoTS.
    NOTE: if you want to play this build please note that you will need a near perfect demon tide and cardiac arrest (1st and 3rd spell costs)!! This can be pretty expensive. Not exactly budget friendly despite being a nonmythic build.

    Nirvana Time Rift ETWF Spell (Nexus of Light untested)
    EHP: 22k/22k

    Nirv is a lot of fun and deals a LOT of damage. This build also comes with a lot of hpr and lifesteal making gameplay pretty easy (if you don't get oneshot). It is slightly glassy, and you have to dodge multihit / can't facetank absolutely everything, but its pretty solid for LI and TCC (haven't tested NoL yet, I have my reservations). The nirvana I'm using is 2mr -5ms and seems to do alright actually.

    Flameshot hilt heavy hybrid. Actually has good enough mana and costs to use spells that aren't multihit!
    Splitting more damage into melee versus spell gives better dps against mobs without CCI (mechorruptor basically). Very solid dps on paper and in practice.

    NOTE FOR NONMYTHIC VARIATION: This build was designed with the sole purpose of LI speedrunning in mind (No mythic nopot category). It has horrible elemental defence and relatively low sustain. (You'll see what I mean if you watch the showcase video.) I'm an experienced player with full sustain armor tomes and still struggle to stay alive, granted I'm facetanking a lot harder than I normally would because its a speedrun.

    Spell shaman but with really cool DPS. Hadal / water aspecting helps keep the healing decent. I wish this build had better walkspeed but honestly the damage is so high that it becomes somewhat of a QOL factor when you consider it compared to other spell shaman builds. Effortless conc charging (only 2 w6'd armors are needed for brainless max conc), never get walled. It is a bit glassy though. Quite nice that it doesn't have -agi although being ETWF.

    Easily the coolest shaman build I've played. (haven't tried aftershock yet i guess.) I haven't tried this build in raids but lateogre has and apparently it works :)

    ETF mixed mana mage, pushing the limits of monster meteor damage but still about 5 times tankier than the fatal build. Good movement (6 tp+snake with bonder) but much less walkspeed, lower damage. Recovers some damage from endurance if you want. Also super brainless gameplay

    Nonmythic RoTS mainhand warrior (haha meme). Imagine using Nether's Car in the same build as Obsidian-Framed, except the whole thing is actually a spell build (well, heavy hybrid I guess). Tested in LI and NOL does fine (in terms of not dying); also has decent dps when it isn't getting walled.
    You could use Brainwash but then your elemental defense is well and truly dead. The lifesteal from hive helmet and the overall tanky nature of this build also helps you cast charge less, which leads to less downtime and very little tempo breaking when attacking bosses.
    However, this boss has a painful time with some legendary island bosses, especially corkus boss phase 2 and somewhat virus doctor. It gets walled out easily due to being a very fast attack speed weapon with low base damage already, and split elemental damage between three elements (earth, fire, and thunder). An alternative would be to carry a second, water powdered RoTS.
    NOTE: if you want to play this build please note that you will need a near perfect demon tide and cardiac arrest (1st and 3rd spell costs)!! This can be pretty expensive. Not exactly budget friendly despite being a nonmythic build.

    Singularity hybrid except its neither super fast nor super slow attack speed. Gets decent mage dps (beats ETF monster build above ^ in LI time). Very fun to play. Weaving spell and melee to get maximum damage and powder special charge speed is very interesting -- this build charges powder specials ~30% faster than super slow attack speed singularity, if played well!

    Tierstack singularity (noncrafted). Super lame but also super effective against TCC raid boss.
    DPS against LI is measured to be lower than the monster and spell/hybrid singularity builds, surprisingly, despite being higher than both on paper.
    Comfy amount of tanking power and ok mana from mana steal for healing without need for King of Hearts.

    I can't say I recommend this build since it's ETW (and even has negative mana regen... it sucks....) but its a funny ETW mage that nevertheless has 16k EHP that I took through Legendary Island for a spin. No mythics but mythic tier damage + time rift + livable health is pretty cool!
