At least they're putting effort into trying to fix it, never liked the old quest anyways even without the ship repair bug so the changes seem good.

 

No one going to talk about the fact that they added birds?

 

I'm like 99% sure the sky islands have a lot of birds, they definitely don't fly around like that though so that's pretty neat I guess.

Yeah, looks kinda off. I think it would look a lot better if they split it in thirds and made it kind of Olympic podium shaped where the center is raised a lot and either the left or right are raised a little. A tree on the side without tents could maybe be a nice addition too. Also there's some dirt to show a path which is nice but maybe mixing in some slightly darker wood to make the path look even more worn could be good too. A little more definition would go a long way.

Also, completly unrelated but that path in the bottom left of the picture looks super straight and branches off into a much more natural looking path in the middle, I feel like those stairs and the area would look a lot better as one big banked curve with a break in the middle for the center path. Like, it's giving off hard "E" vibes when I think it would look better as an "∊".

COTL looking real nice though. The area around Thesead is getting a big upgrade.

 

Something else no one has brought up (I think) who is this?

I think it's worth noting the kinda recurring element of flowers as well.
The last update we got a picture of a blue flower behind some purple blocks, In this update we got a cave(?) with some massive "flowers" in it, plus this clearly flower flavored character.
I don't really have much to say beyond this is important.

 

Wait the modifier has "2/3 uses remaining" What does that mean?

 

Also in the October news thread, they showed the picture of a large tree, with the word "tree" in bold letters on the thread.

so i spend time climbing a stupid beanstalk and walk across some stupid cloud for a stupid dragon to tell me i'm a bad person

it kinda made sense pre-1.20 when the whole lore behind the decay was villager greed, but post-1.20 it's now "i'm gonna judge you for just doin yo thing"

replace it with a canyon colossus introduction and unlock quest please and thank you

This is very nice, I was wondering what had happened to the monthly post since we didn't get one in december.

First off, man, Canyon of the Lost has never looked better! The new look is something I never thought I would want, but I have not a single complaint about it. Hyped to experience in in-game!

New Kandon-Beda also looks really good, like, wow! I like the new lore, since it both makes sense with the Colossus being nearby and it seems interesting. I've seen others criticize it for being too flat but I personally don't mind it nor do I want to fully judge it since the image doesnt display 100% of what it looks like. Then again, I'm not really that picky of a person either. I think it being flat would be nice of ease of traversal around the area.

Another mysterious flower, truely curious about whats going on with them. The chorus plant reminds me of the Silent Expanse..

Still hyped for the changes to Galleon's Graveyard, it looks really cool now! As of right now it's probably the first thing i'm gonna check out once the update drops.

Also, is that 'The Bigger Picture' ? It seems like it, if so I wish luck to development of that cutscene, in its current state it's gonna need it, heh.

Curious about that character at the end of the post as well, also wondering whats up with that. Guess we shall wait and see.

Please don't get my hopes up, once you start expecting Bloomi everything, no matter how great is bound to be disappointing :(

...maybe we should stop suggesting joke provinces so that we actually get a main storyline and fruma :shrug:

You can see a green tent and red and orange patches. The npcs will probably be there

 

The shrinking video thing looks like the mushroom from The Bigger Picture which is a quest next to the canyon of the lost and Aldorei... and if they are remaking Aldorei and Canyon of the lost this update and Kinda "broke" the quest by i guess messing with it... then its almost 100% confirmed to be reworked
