SPOILER Is this Dern?

Yeah, hello.
I was doing the quest Fantastic Voyage when I realized something.

As I was going through the portal, I remembered that there was a portal to dern, which could be similar to the portal in SE. I haven't seen the one in SE, yet though. I'm just obsessed with the lore.
I remember having a conversation with a guildmate that went sort of like this:

me: are they gonna add the end to wynn tho?
him: thats dern

Very paraphrased but you get the point. Outside the portal and inside the 'mysterious realm' I saw endermen, and purple. 2 very common themes of the end
So, is the realm Dern? Or perhaps, related to dern?

 

I believe it’s dern, and I think the common consensus is that it is dern.

 

Maybe, maybe not. I don't think it's truly confirmed but it probably is

oh also to answer the question i dont personally think the fantastic voyage realm is dern itself, but rather is more likely an alternate realm's version of SE, although there are a fair number of people who think it's just dern itself so you never know

 

Since the obsidian spikes and crystalline veins of ore are similar to those of the SE, the physical correspondence to Dern and a place deeply warped by its Influence, I’d say it’s probably Dern or maybe a Realm of Influence deeply affected by it.

The only thing that I think might prove it to not being dern is the fact that we are already influenced by light at this point. There's no way for us to harm the mobs in that realm, as well no way to harm anything under the influence of darkness.

 

Another little thing I wanted to add is that in Bob's lore, it is stated that he traveled to a land of darkness far away to seal an unknown beast (going to Dern and sealing the Dern Beast)
In Fantastic Voyage, inside the abandoned tent on Gateway Island is a note that says "Dear Nilrem", Nilrem being Bob's most trusted friend. This means that Bob was on Gateway Island at some point where he had written all his notes to Nilrem. This also implies that Bob most likely went to Gateway to enter the portal there as a way of entering the "land of darkness" (supposedly Dern).

 

I don't think it's Dern, but rather another realm taken over by it, since I'm pretty sure that there are ruined buildings taken over by the spikes, why would the darkness take over it's own buildings? It's probably just like the SE from another world.
