Mage melee or spellspam?

I'm just wondering because someone told me that mage is really only good for healing but is getting a heavy melee build better than getting a spellspam/heavy spell build?

What should I go for if i'm looking for a endgame build then? Spellspam? Currently using morph but I'd def like something better

 

There's tierstack, which is using attack speed items with a slow attack speed weapon. It can do more damage than spellspam, and is better in wars, but spellspam is more versatile and more fun to play in my opinion.

 

yea, I was going for a tierstack build (I just classified it as melee because I'm kind of new to all these builds)

 

The whole point of mage is to use spells lmao, melee mage is far worse in dps than other classes, it has lower ehp than other melee classes such as warrior or assassin, and having a melee build severely inhibits the most important spell on mage, heal. Morph nothing is a pretty good build with the ability to use a lot of endgame wands as well as king of hearts, giving you much more survivability than melee.

hmm yea mage melee is bad if u don't count tstack singu in. It's one of the best builds in the game.

 

compiler tstack gets 20k dps and 100k ehp tho

mage tstack is just as viable as spell is, just that there are not many good options for it
(compiler, singu, (faustian contract, eidolon, final compulsion)) the ones in double brackets can't reach 20k dps with your average tstack build
