Lately I have been playing a ROM hack of the fourth generation game Platinum. For those that don't know, it's a much harder version of the vanilla game and you have access to all pokemon and evolutions without trading. It also rebalances and overall buffs a lot of underused pokemon like Parasect and Onix, how all the starters now have base 535 stats., Charizard is now a dragon/fire pokemon, etc. Here's a link to the full documentation if you all want to check all the changes out.
    https://drive.google.com/drive/u/0/folders/1YZl5iShTdRwQIQ7FO1hAJaYBryWxxHwE?sort=13&direction=a

So far I've been having a lot of fun on the ROM hack. You can't just sweep an entire gym with a single pokemon that it's weak to because the AI isn't garbage anymore and the gym's pokemon actually use moves that are super effective against their counters. For example, in the Oreburgh City gym they have pokemon that know Thunder Punch, so if you only try using a water starter you can easily get 1 hit KO'd. This makes the game a lot more strategic (and at times a bit fustrating), but overall it's a welcomed change.

That brings me to the point of this post; I need help figuring out what team I should use for the rest of the game, specifically my rival, the Elite Four, and Cynthia. The latter two are especially challenging in this ROM hack. Not only do they actually use items and have much better AI, they each have 4 SEPARATE teams that they randomly pick from when you face them. So every time you lose and rematch any of the Elite Four or Cynthia you have a 75% chance of facing off a different team. And given how I've been swept by gym leaders with only 1 team b4, you can see how it would not be... enjoyable to figure out how to beat the Elite Four and Cynthia through trial and error.

However, while I've gotten through 5 gym leaders so far, I'm still unknowledgeable about more complicated strategies and moves like U-Turn, EV Spreads, Encore, etc. So what's the best team I should use for Renegade Platinum, with items and EV spreads? Here's a few requirements and additional things to know:
    • I'm looking for an Offensive, but least risky team. So I'm willing to sacrifice damage in exchange for being less reliant on RNG moves and strategies.
    • Focus Sash is a heavily used item by the Elite Four and Cynthia, so you can't plan to just 1 Hit KO everything. Currently, I'm thinking about using Stealth Rock to counter the Focus Sash.
    • I already have Garchomp and Manaphy and I'm 99% dead set to use them. Only if you have a strategy without them that is objectively better then I'd consider replacing them.
    • EV training is extremely easy in this ROM hack; the daycare center in Solaceon Town now has a free EV and experience trainer and you have access to all the EV power bracers. So don't worry about asking for any kind of EV spread for being too tedious to do. I'm planning on EV training all of my team.
    • You have access to all TM and HM moves to face the Elite Four and Cynthia. I'm also willing to use cheats to learn any non-TM or HM moves like Morning Sun for Arcanine. All TM's are also renewable.
If you have any questions or suggestions just let me know. And if you've played a pokemon game b4 and this sounds interesting, then I highly recommend you check out the ROM hack. Thank you all for you help!

I'm also playing through Pokemon Platinum right now, but just the vanilla game. This is the team I'm planning on using so maybe if it helps give you some ideas: https://richi3f.github.io/pokemon-t...ape+luxray+roserade+garchomp+lucario+togekiss

You could swap Infernape with Empoleon and that would work as well, but if you chose Turtwig maybe try like Vaporeon instead of Roserade.

No suggestions tbh, my only strategies i could suggest rely on 1 shots and focus sashes woul dkinda ruin that. BUT I recommend a pokemon fan game called Pokemon Empyrean, it actually has a fantastic story and world and choice of pokemon and basically everything about it is awesome. it's also a lot more difficult than the main series games so you'll probably enjoy that.

Better. Black and White were my first pokemon games so they hold a special place in my heart, and I loved their story, but as far as quality goes, this game delivers hard. It's about a pokemon trainer whos father is a government agent who was thought to have wiped out an evil group thats actually still kicking because theyre harnessing the power of these sorta pokemon deity thingies and it's your job to help your father defeat them. There's also pokemon fusions and by that I mean a trainer fused with their pokemon, so theres half human half pokemon boss battles that are really difficult. It's pretty great. There's also this sequence mid-game where you take a gym leader on a date to a nightclub with the goal of infiltrating it to get some information or something, idk, I forget. Obviously it's no Red Dead Redemption 2, but its really cool. Not to mention it has some really funny dialogue too.

What I'm trying to say is, it's a fantastic game and I highly recommend it.

That sounds like body horror lol. The game does look interesting so I’ll check it out then.

Btw, Luxray is a dark and electric type in Renegade, so idk if that would chance anything about your recommendation.
