Farewell for now

This isn't really a goodbye, so I'm not gonna call it that.

I knew that eventually I was going to make one of these, because I had an end goal: Help Wynncraft become better than it was when I first started making my suggestions. Of course, you can debate on this yourself if I met this goal or not.
Personally, I believe I have. I believe that the suggestions and content I've made have pushed Wynncraft to better itself. 1.20 saw the start of a new era of content in Wynncraft. Raids were implemented, Housing was (surprisingly) realized, and even Guilds got the care they've been looking to get for years now. While I do agree that it did go off on a rocky start, I believe the big picture of it all is that Wynncraft is listening and beginning to adapt to the community's evolving skill and needs.

With this end goal (probably) completed, and Wynncon retired, I'll be stepping down from creating WSR suggestions. I've created most, if not all, of the suggestions and ideas that I have. Most of them have been implemented in the game in some fashion, which I'm glad about.
As for Wynncraft Systematic Recreation, I will be retiring it as well. It has served its purpose, and honestly became more than I had originally thought it would. I'm glad it did, but it did make managing the code a bit more difficult, seeing as I had coded it pretty informally to begin with because I never expected for it to go this long.
I most likely won't release the source code for WSR unless I clean it up some. It's readable, and to an extent I'm proud of it. However, if I had known it would become something much more formal, I would've taken better care of it. And for the most part, I don't believe anything interesting is to be had by looking at it.

I'll probably be lingering around the Wynncraft Forums for a while. As for Wynncraft itself, I'll most likely check out the next major updates to see if anything catches my eye. But other than that, I probably won't be playing as much anymore, if ever. I've already moved onto newer projects, where I can code more freely and more formally. My only regret I have is not achieving Featured Wynncraftian, at least for Senor Tophat's sake. Maybe one day...

I wish I could continue with my work and WSR, but this entire endeavor has worn me out more than I'm willing to show. I know that what I did was an arduous and unexpected task for many people, probably surprising the Wynncraft Content Team too. I wish I didn't have to drop this position, even if it strained my health a bit too much. But part of me also wishes to be a normal community member again and to re-assess my life, at least for the time being. Maybe I'll pick up WSR again if I think there's something else I can make out of it. But for now, I just want to rest.

I've met a lot of amazing people throughout these 2 years making suggestions and hosting Wynncon from practically every corner of the community: Profers, Guildies, PvPers, Class Builders, Tryhards, etc. I never thought that I would travel so far across the community to meet all of you given how I had little to no affiliation with any of these before. Some of these people I know I'll still be friends with them years down the line. There's so many of you to thank that it's impossible to do so one-by-one. So I'll just thank all of you instead for giving me a reason to do the work that I loved to do.

I'd like to give a special thank you to AlteredStars (@StarDraco123). AlteredStars has been my primary assistant and behind-the-scenes person for most of my suggestions and content, helping me design, balance, test, and polish them. My content would not be as nearly as good without him by my side. He'll also be leaving with me to join me on wherever the path ahead leads.

Thank you to everyone who has read all of my threads and suggestions. Your feedback and comments were much appreciated throughout these 2 years.

I'm sure I'll see all of you again, one way or another. After all, this isn't really a goodbye. So let's not call it that. <3

Man I'm gonna miss seeing you around. You've contributed more than almost anyone else has to this community, with wynncon being one of the coolest things I've ever seen on here. I know you're gonna go far with whatever you do next, and I wish you the best nova!

We all know that wynncon could have never been what it was without you stepping up to lead the project, it was probably on the verge of dying before that.
It was awesome seeing the community get together for such a cool event, and it was awesome while it lasted.

DI has caused me more grief than words can express, but I will miss this server dearly...

 

Hopefully, someone else could take up the mantle and make a WynnCon of their own.

Thanks for what you did with WynnCon. It was honestly one of the most fun events I ever participated in. Saying what you made is impressive would be a massive understatement. Farewell, may the tides bring your ship where you want it to.

 

I never got to experience a lot of wynncon, but it was truly amazing and a really great project, thank you and the others for making it.
I think I speak for a lot of the community when I say you will be missed, thank you for everything you did for the community <3

Truly was, A Server to Remember, tysm Nova and the others who made Wynncon a truly unique experience, and made way for both improve Wynn and inspire Wynn's community. You went above and beyond anyone could have for Wynncraft. Thanks for the Epic Wynn experiences ya made for all of us! <3

Goodbye Wynncon. I'm glad I will always be immortalized as the guy who glitched into a state of casting charge indefinitely for a straight 15 minutes then dying in the middle of Nova's speech and missing the screenshot.

 

Thank you so much nova. This is one of the reasons I have come back to Wynn even after almost finishing it. The community and their creations are top notch, and I'm really exited for future projects worked on by you and everyone else who makes this server what it is.
