What Is The Pool Of Water Under The Forgery

What is the "mystical pool of water" (as the wiki states) under the forgery? I went down there and saw a hole there that looked like an excavation site, any idea on what is that?

It is as you say: an excavation site. Under the hole is a cave and at the end there's a small meteor, so it's likely that GavelExcavation (the parent company of WynnExcavation, which was interested in meteors and their magic) was trying to dig it out to research it.

 

What is GavelExcavation (besides it being the parent of wynnexcavation)

 

Basically, before WynnExcavation was established, there was a company in Gavel (likely partnered with or administered by the government of Gavel, going off of what the King of Troms says in WynnExcavation Site D) named GavelExcavation. It was researching the meteors that crashed into Lake Gylia and the magic that they radiated, but since research on them was going extremely slowly and nothing was being discovered, as soon as GavelExcavation found out that the Power Crystals existed in Wynn, they decided to move to Wynn and rename into "WynnExcavation", while GavelExcavation was dissolved. It's not known whether or not Amadel was also the leader of GavelExcavation but I think it's possible

 

So basically, gavelexcavation is wynnexcavation from the past?

 

Gavelexcavation IS Wynnexcavation, but renamed to suit its main province

 

ok, and also I just read ur title thing and I wanna say same xD

 

that meteor was part of the old ??? quest puzzle, it was covered up after the quest got revampt.
I have no idea what purpose it has now in the lore tho

 

I know that, now it's most likely just another meteor like all the other ones around Gavel
