Community Event The 2021 Wynnic Olympics [Concluded]

Welcome to the Wynnic Olympics! This is an event spanning multiple weeks, where you are placed on a team and you all compete for a team LE prize. Just like the real olympics, this consists of multiple different sub-events, ranging from stuff like scavenger hunts to tests of combat prowess. Some of these can be done solo, but many will require teamwork. Due to this, I'm hoping this event will be a good way for people to branch out and make new friends!

Basic Info:
The Wynnic Olympics will be hosted entirely on a private discord server (more on this at later), and upon joining the event as a participant, you will be put in one of the following teams of 14 people total:

• Team Troms
• Team Pirate Cove
• Team Corkus
• Team Rodoroc
• Team Cinfras

The tasks in this event often simply require you to post an image or video verifying that you completed them, before a deadline ends. Almost all of the tasks with prizes WILL NOT require you to be on Wynncraft at a specific time, and will instead require you to submit something at any point during a large timeframe. This is my main goal with this event: to provide flexibility in the schedules of all participants, and to give everyone in different timezones a fair shot.

Upon joining, you are in no way obligated to participate in every single task, but if you just sit there and do nothing at all you won't be eligible for earning any team prizes.

What's the prize, you may ask? Every member on the winning team will be given 20LE, or 280LE split among all their members. 8 stacks will be distributed throughout the event overall.

Other sub-events in the olympics may reward prizes also, and the grand team prize may increase too, as I will continuously be earning money throughout the event. However I cannot promise anything for certain.

How to join:
Message WithTheFish#1353 on discord for an invite to the event's private discord server, as I cannot post discord links here. If you have the link you can send it to other people too, with their consent.

Upon joining, you will be asked to fill out a google form, which will help me determine which team is the best fit for you. That being said, you are not required to join that team.

(Some teams will not be eligible to be picked, as they have too many members in comparison to other teams)

A discord channel will show which other participants are in what team, in case you wish to see where your friends are.

You can join up to two weeks after the event starts, but that may lead to you potentially earning less prizes. If you just want to join the event as a spectator, just message me!


Events:

Below are all the events that will take place during the Olympics:

Location Hunt (Team Event) - 6 Screenshots will be posted. Each team must try to find out where all screenshots are ingame. The first five teams to find all locations will earn Olympic Points.
Rewards:
1st place OVERALL: 6LE for each team member.
1st place: 4 Olympic Points for their team.
2nd place: 3 Olympic Points for their team.
3rd place: 2 Olympic Points for their team.
4th place: 1 Olympic Points for their team.

Raid Event - Relates to raids and is a test of teamwork. I won't reveal too much about this one until the olympics start.
Rewards:
48LE split among the winning party of each raid.

Boat Race (Solo Event) - Race from Nemract to Jofash Docks on a boat! Changed from a horse race based on feedback I received. It will occur twice since it occurs on a specific date and time.
Rewards:
2 Olympic Points for the team of the first three winners.

Capture the Flag - Like location hunt but with a twist. Each team provides a location and a riddle leading to its location, and other teams must figure out where it is. If a team guesses the location wrong, then they can't guess again for 6 hours. If a team gets a location right, then they get the "flag" and can choose a new place to hide it in. The team with the most flags wins, and any team holding onto their original flag gains points too.
Rewards:
Most flags - 5 Olympic Points for their team.
Kept flag - 2 Olympic Points for their team.

Wynncraft Kahoot (Solo Event) - That’s right. Wynncraft-themed Kahoot games. Teams will pick a representative, and they'll have a chance to participate in a Kahoot game. The top three players in each game will win a prize. Don’t know what Kahoot is? Check here: https://kahoot.com/what-is-kahoot/
Rewards:
1st place: 5 Olympic Points for their team.
2nd place: 3 Olympic Points for their team.
3rd place: 2 Olympic Point for their team.
3rd place: 1 Olympic Point for their team.

Catch the Fish - WithTheFish will be on a level 11 hunted class, and it's your goal to chase him down and kill him. Teams are encouraged to work together for this, as I'll be using every trick I can think of. There will be 2 rounds of this every time it happens.
Rewards:
2 Olympic Points for the team of the first three winners.

Secret Tasks - They’re a secret! I won’t reveal what this task(s) is yet, but they will take place over a long time period.

FAQ:
Q - Do I need to be a certain level to join?
A - Of course not! Even if you're level 10 you can participate in the event.

Q - Can I still join if I'm not online all the time?
A - Of course! With a few exceptions, most events require you or your team to "submit" something during a certain timeframe.

Q - Can I unload an unlisted video to Youtube as proof of the event?
A - Yes, as long as I see it.

Q - Is crossteaming allowed?
A - Morally I’d say it’s wrong but I can’t really enforce it, and it only causes you to loose more money.

As you can tell, this is an extremely elaborate event. It is one of the largest projects I've attempted on this server, and likely one of the biggest events in Wynn's history. If you have any questions please ask me them!

I would also like to apologize for the very low prize pool. I have been lootrunning/grinding for this event and have made a few stacks of LE, but unlike in 2020, I didn't suddenly find 3 valuable mythics in the same week. I'm very sorry about this.

I have no clue how this event will turn out, or how many people will participate in it, but if it brings the community even a bit closer together, I'll be happy.

The opening ceremony isn't mandatory, not sure if I'll be able to record it but maybe someone else can.
