The Corruption being the thing that comes out of the war between Light and Dark, obviously doesn't serve anything. This, along with the zombies, is a direct result of the war itself, and so can't serve anything.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I thought, and in this case, I guess this person's right. Perhaps not Dern specifically, but evil ideals in general, which is what Dern represents.
