Item Recipes?

So Im new and ik you can craft items but like idk the recipes... is they're item recipes?

you need materials that you can collect with gathering tools (wood, ore, fish, crops)

and you can improve them with ingredients that you can find in chests or get from mob drops, some quests also give

if you open a workstation it will tell you which materials you need
once you put them in you can craft it or add up to 6 ingredients before doing so

 

But if you don't want to craft, you don't need to.
Professions are never needed.

 

technically correct, but some quests and secret discoveries need gathering professions. as far as i know no non-profession content requires crafting professions.
