So I've been playing for a while, and I feel like I have a pretty good grasp on how things work, but the one thing I think I still don't understand is the little '*' that appears on the stats of items.
    (Screenshot here for example)

For example, the 115/3s* Poison. Some stats will just have the numbers, and some will have the * at the end. Is there a difference between a stat with it vs without it? If there is, what would that difference be? Sorry if this is a dumb question, and thank you for your help!

The * shows how good the rolls on the stats are

    * Is good, ** is better, and *** means a perfect roll. They are not always completely accurate or reliable, though.

In general a star indicates its within 10% of the max stat of an item roughly. With each star being closer to perfect number on the item. Though some items can be maxed at no stars/1 star depending on the item's stats.
