What's Your Wynncraft Unpopular Opinion?

Final unpopular opinion (at least for tonight):

That one verification method every community discord uses (the one that requires you to join a minecraft server) is shadier than an alleyway drug dealer. I'm convinced it's harvesting our data, especially given experiences I've heard of in the past. We're all putting ourselves at risk using it.

 

Lunar spine is the best wand in the game, ive not used a single other wand as a primary that wasn't koh/bonder (or emerald for lb) since i ever got my mage to level 87
You should try lunar spine, great experience and actually makes mage more skill needed to use

Dwarves and Doguns part 4 is an awful quest that ends with the moral (whether intentionally or not) that genocide is bad unless the people being genocided are too violent in their resistance to it. Dwarves and Doguns as a whole would also be a good quest line if not for 4 (and the stuff 1, 2, and 3 sets up for 4), though it could do without being a white saviour story.

EDIT: This is a pretty bad hot take since people are agreeing, I need to try harder next time.

 

Warring is pretty cool but 1.19 and before wars, when stable were perfect. They were a better fit for the community (easy to get into, hard-ish to master), you didnt need much to get started and created some of the most memorable content in wynn to date.

 

- The Lost is a good quest
- CCI is not bad. I wouldn't go to the lengths of saying that's it's completely fine, but I don't dislike it much either. It still has issues, but the concept is good.
- CotL is the best region ingame

 

could you elaborate on these 'experiences'? the only relevant piece of data a minecraft server like that could be accessing is your IP address, which isn't exactly a huge security threat

I like canyon guides.
And the lost, I guess, most quests in CotL in general are pretty fun imo actually.

Double Vision is one of the best bracelets in the game especially for archer if you don't need any other bracelet for skill points/mana

There should be more "collectable items" similar to Salted's Poop and other things added for the current game, and there's a lot of potential items that could work for that (Saltedpog map please)

There should be a way to buy specific crate skins directly from the store without using crates, especially after an update to them, so players can specifically get what they want and then after a while the items are removed from the store.

Morph is one of the strongest sets in the current meta. It probably beats out ~75% of most well-put together builds. I would say it's overpowered. This is mostly a problem with the game being balanced around morph and a lot of items succumbing to power creep but it's still something to think about.

 

DnD 3/4 are terrible quests with stupid lore and ending, only cutscenes are cool
Beyond the Grave is really overrated
CotL is one of the best places on map
Lari is a great character
Champion isnt more p2w than bombs/totems
Grandmother is the best mythic bow
Jokes like Fruman walls or Therck Stairs arent funny but arent THAT annoying, they just...exist
Corrupter of Words is a great boss and it makes ToL a kinda good quest
Canyon Guides is easy, idk why do people struggle with it

Cow was a great boss, now it’s just an irrelevant relic from a time when the game encouraged players to use cc spells

 

mine is that i think canyon guides is a super easy quest

I fully agree with this one! I often have people asking why i dont use wynntils and its because i dont my guides to be too confusing for new players who will watch a modded guide but themselves have an unmodded game.

 

I don't think that's an unpopular opinion.

 

A CT member has stated that they didn't have enough time to get to more major CotL rework stuff in 1.20

 

Skill point pots are great, not cringe at all, thats my unpopular opinion

 

No idea if this is popular or not, but mine is that I absolutely hate the tutorial
I’ve scared away several friends from wynncraft from the tutorial and they have never played it again, no matter how much I tell them the game is better

 

As a fallen factory enjoyer, the dungeon sucks so much its honestly unbeavable
all the token rooms and worthless grind you didnt want you find here, even the boss is a token room, it needs reworking, and tbh, now that raids show just what the ct is capable of doing there should be a massive rework to dungeons, the only thing changed about dungeons is that now the bosses have cci, awesome (not counting the qol change of dungeon keys but that one is great)
TLDR: dundeons suck and Fallen Factory is bad

 

Welp, might as well throw my hat into the mix.

-Ragni (and the surrounding areas) is one of the better "zones" in the game
-Pre-1.20 Cinfras was awful, it's so much better now
-Grind spots should be in the game (I get why they were largely nerfed and some removed, and they were overpowered, but I don't think they should be axed entirely) because like, I get wanting to incentivise players to actually explore the game's content, it's really tedious to do that for several classes
-Bantisu Temple is underrated and should get more love
-Qira Hive is just Tower of Ascension but better
-Shaman is by far my favorite class to play
-Mythics should've been rewards for hard, endgame content, not one in a million drops that you have no idea if it's even gonna be good or not
-Random IDs in general are just a mess, making +SP boosts on equipment static is a step in the right direction though
-More mobs should be neutral, sometimes you could be minding your own business (like gathering, for instance) and suddenly you're swarmed by 15 mobs trying to rip your face off. Just, please. Leave me be.

Mobgrinding for Mythics was really refreshing and not overpowered
