    It's an untradable item, you cannot sell it. You likely just threw it away.
    To get a new one, simply talk to Duvale again where you finished part 1.

    So I just tried to get a new mechanical reactor as I am trying to do the second part of the quest, but I cant get it back for some reason. I am talking to Duvale but hes not giving me the item.

    What does Duvale say when you speak to him? And what stage is your quest book in for both the first and second part of the quest?
