SPOILER Who Are The Twins?

Wirt and Tirt. It only makes sense.
They are twins, basically.
Wirt seeks truth. He makes sure only those who are true, those who are members and those who have bested the Tribal Sanctuary can pass. He needs the truth and evidence of the Antic Bead.
Tirt seeks solace. He deludes himself, thinking that his dad will be able to come back.
Of course, they are not brothers. They have different fathers. Yet they are twins...

Salted & I are twins. Obviously. There is definitely no age gap. We definitely don't live in different places. Hopefully this will be proved in-game someday.

One sought for the truth, the other for solace,

only to wear its long desired crown.
Though only for a while, the survivor smiled.
The claws soon ravaged and the blood flowed wild,
as from a nameless place judgement had arrived.
Actually, the Marius thing got me thinking - twins sounds a lot like Twains, doesn't it? Now, this is a huge stretch, but it does seem to fit at least somewhat with Mael and Theorick (assuming gray bearded Theorick was somehow born on the same day as, and slightly after, Mael).
They were adopted, not born from the same parents, and Theorick clearly didn't like Mael very much ("everything he says makes me stupider").
Not sure about heaven particularly, but Theorick was certainly very ambitious and dangerous to the corrupteds. He fell, as his own ambition led him to enter the portal and become corrupted.
Mael likely watched this, and become sad at what happened to Theorick, as well as about all the people he was forced to kill.
Soon, Mael would be the only survivor of the original Twains (Theorick doesn't really count, being trapped and corrupted), so he would wear the Twain "crown".
Eventually, though, Mael would die as well ("judgement had arrived"), and the spirits in the mansion would grow restless and dangerous ("claws soon ravaged and blood flowed wild").


Again, this is a huge stretch, and I have no idea why this poem would be in Gavel if this is right, but it's interesting to think about.

Axelus and Draani (king of rodoroc)

Axelus is Draani's son. He was born from the other.
They disagreed. Axelus sided with the Doguns while Draani did not.
Axelus sought to teach the public the truth about the Doguns. Draani tried to cover up the evils; he made the public comfortable with it.
They, of course, were not brothers. They are father and son.
Breaking through heaven... Axelus sought to break through Draani's haze of glory.
The people of Rodoroc feared Axelus as a traitor, a person who sided with the "demons." They thought he was mad for saying the Doguns were misunderstood.
Axelus could not convince everyone with his words.
Axelus died. He tried to bring people together, but died.
Draani grieved for his lost son.
Draani is the king of Rodoroc.
Draani chuckled:

• King of Rodoroc: ...you knew my son. Were helping him try to put an end to this, before everything was too far gone. Heh...apologies, for that.

Also, there is still a possibility that the book is referring to Marius Twain and someone else. It's just more unlikely compared to the other options.

 

What if it's talking about Enzan and Therck?

 

I think they probably did in the distant past. We see that they were once very powerful magically, similar to elves, especially in the heart of Llevigar.

 

Not everything is tied to Light or Dark. There are magic forces outside them. Elemental ones or electromagic are good examples.
