In "The Grand Archive" Secret Discovery there are a group of interesting readable books that give some insight into parts of Wynncraft's lore.

The one that caught my attention the most was the book titled Fall of the Twins.
Here's all the text the book shows when interacted with:

Born from another, condemned each other.
One sought for the truth, the other for solace,
but did not treat themselves as brothers.
Breaking through heaven was the young one's dream.
It's call hollowed the souls of the frightened,
but it was not enough to bring a flow to the stream.
The younger one fell, as the ambition brought it down.
The older one watched with grief and sorrow,
only to wear its long desired crown.
Though only for a while, the survivor smiled.
The claws soon ravaged and the blood flowed wild,
as from a nameless place judgement had arrived.

Now, the book is written in a poem-like manner, in which it describes the tale of two twin brothers who had opposing ideals and eventually came into conflict with each other.
Sounds a lot like Pokémon Black & White lol
In my opinion, this book is the most interesting out of the six within the grand archive due to it being so vague and mysterious.
Obviously someone in the Content Team wrote and put this in the Secret Discovery with some sort of intention/purpose to Wynncraft's lore in mind.

So now we have to theorize about the big question the passage leaves us with...
Who exactly are these twin brothers?

There aren't many twins that we know of currently within the world of Wynncraft.
However, I have two ideas of my own.

The first idea I came up with is the twins being the Canyon Colossus and Ahms Colossus.
Perhaps the text saying "The younger one fell, as the ambition brought it down" refers to the Ahms Colossus falling down into the Void?
It would also explain why the two Colossi were perpetually enraged and had to be consistently calmed down from dogun magic. However, I don't know how huge beings made of metal would be "birthed"...
Additionally, the passage mentions claws here: "The claws soon ravaged and the blood flowed wild". I'm pretty sure neither of the Colossi have claws... It could be referring to something else entirely though.
Maybe both of these descriptions are just metaphorical?

The other idea I thought of is the twins being Orphion and the Dern Beast.
In the Light Forest's Ultimate Discovery we learn that these two entities have a long-standing relationship with each other. It almost seems as if they were in existence since before the realms were created. Although this would be quite cliché, it is very possible the these two beasts were born from a god who has not been mentioned anywhere yet.
This theory would explain why the two brothers oppose of and dislike each other so much, but it would be a bit strange that they look extremely different from one another when they are twins. However, the influence of both Light and Dark could've molded their bodies into what we currently see of them.
Also, a big plot hole with this theory is that one of the twins supposedly dies, as told by the tale. This isn't the case with either Orphion or the Dern Beast. But again, it just might be metaphorical.

That's all I can think of right now. As you can see, there's not really a clear answer.
I'm sure whoever these twins are though, they must have originated from Gavel or at least have been present in Gavel at some point in time. Otherwise, why would this book be located inside a library within Gavel? That's just what I believe at least. (I put Marius Twain in the poll anyway, just to have more options to choose from)

Anyway, what do you guys think? Leave comments on your theories and vote in the poll!
This is my first serious thread I've made on Wynncraft's lore, so feedback is appreciated as well.

Sorry that this thread is so long, but that tends to happen often with lore-related stuff :p

I don't think the Villagers would know about Orphion or the Dern Beast, since they are mainly just focused on capitalism, and they had no huge clue on what was causing the Decay.

I also don't think it would be Marius Twain, since there is no one that is related to Marius.

And I'm not too sure about the Colossi, since the poem said they did not treat themselves as brothers, breaking through heaven was the young one's dream, I don't think the Colossus wants to break through heaven.

Overall, I'd say the most likely candidate for the twins was some kind of squabble over the throne of Gavel, starting a civil war, although if it was, it is unknown when it happened (250 BP - 750 AP, that is how long the Gavellian Monarchy lasted.)

Although unlikely, perhaps the book wasn't written by a Villager? It is very old after all, who knows where it could've originated from..
But you make a good point.
...that we know of. Or is it confirmed that Marius is an orphan as well? I'm not too keen on the history behind the Twain family.
To be fair, we don't know much about the Colossi in the first place. Who knows what their true purpose/intentions really are...
Yeah, that's quite plausible. I don't see any holes in this theory.
It's a bit strange that they wouldn't straight out say the names of the brothers in this case, but maybe it's to keep the poem-like feeling or ambiguity.

    It's "Cliché" for a reason.
Religion, almost enterily, follows this has a basic underlying theme.
In religion, everything starts as one, there isn't a difference, but the coming of sin brings duelity.
Duality is in everything once sin comes about: Good and evil, man and woman, light and dark, past and future, dead and alive, being and non-being.
With duality comes chaos, instability, change. This is univerisal.

This is true, but when I said "cliché" I meant that it would be a kinda cheesy decision for the Content Team (or whoever creates the story) to make regarding Wynncraft's lore.
    Just in my opinion, anyway.

Myth shares fundamental outlines for a reason.
It's a part of us. To say that it's cheesy is... well, following the basis of myth, to create a believable myth isn't cheesy, if anything it's a very valuable technic.
Do you think it's cheesy when Dark Souls does it?

I've never played a Dark Souls game so I can't answer this.

Anyway, I get what you're trying to say, but I still think it would be kinda lame if that's the direction the story ends up taking.
Even though many myths are similar to this in fashion, it's a bit of an overdone trope many forms of media use.. to the point where it seems uninteresting/uncreative to me.
Especially when there's many other paths the story could take.

That's beside the point of this thread though.

Dark Souls opening just so you have some background information regarding what I said:

By the way, Dark Souls is both written and designed to be a classical representation of myth, down to the Hero's Journey, and the Fire Relly Race (Which is held with yourself from bonfire to bonfire.)
(P.s. this statement is for everyone, not just you XD, don't take the English teacher thing as some kind of inciting insult, they did it to me as well. Stupid education systems.)
By the way, yes, the Hero's Journey is taken from religion, it's not just a writing tool your 9th-grade English teachers taught you. It was a universal theme in nearly all religions that were strained out into a formula, just like duality, which I originally talked about.

Plasma I really don't get where youre coming from with this "that would be too cheesy" thing
Basically every mythology and religion out there has that as its basis
Hell, even Ætheria is based around it!
Its highly possible that Orphion and the Dark Beast are the ones being described, but it could also just be royalty or war or something like that

Nothing else provides a good story. No-one would care about light amd dark if Orphion and the Dern Beast were all buddy-buddy

Anyway, this is off-topic to the OP. I'm done talking about my opinions on this.

This could link with what you said earlier in the thread
In the community, there's a ''Twilight theory'' based on some stuff from Ne du Valeos du Ellach where it maybe hints at Orphion and the Dern beast being one merged being
???: This war has torn us apart from what we were
Now it's POSSIBLE that, similarly to Pokemon Black and White, Orphion and the Dern Beast were once one, merged being of balance. Does that mean Wynn gets its own Kyurem? No, not necessarily. But it's possible.

I doubt the story is talking about them because although the ''claws'' description would make sense, the ''younger one'' dying does not match up. Orphion and the Dern Beast are probably the same age, and neither of them have died.

Do you mean olm? They're not related to guild hall or Gavel either, but they are related to the sodetas, at least tangentially.
If you do mean Ohms, I'm not sure what you're saying at all, since he (most likely) never went to Gavel himself and could have died centuries before Tisaun was born. Even if he didn't, and he did go to Gavel at some point, there's nothing connecting him to the Guild Hall afaik.
