SPOILER The Falling Pond Got Changed?

Ever since Corkus released, a location in the region that has puzzled players endlessly is the Falling Pond. The pond implies that something is going on underneath Corkus City, hidden by the pond. Usually, approaching the pond makes it begin to fall a few blocks before encountering some sort of error and returning to ground level. However, I went to do The Feathers Fly part II today, which starts near the pond, when I noticed that there was a banister on the slope up to Ava, one that wasn't there last I checked. I decided to see if anything else was new with the pond, when I realised that the pond wasn't falling anymore. I ran around it for a bit and nothing happened.

Now, I think I know why this change was made. Since Ava is near the pond, some people might approach it on the way to her and be puzzled about why it's falling down. Maybe they'd even think it's part of the quest. To stop people from being distracted, the falling thing was removed. The NPC talking about how weird the pond is remains untouched, as does the blatantly important sparkling wire. I honestly question if this pond actually does anything yet, or if it's a teaser for a later quest or secret discovery. The reason I think it might do something is because when it did fall, it would guide you to the wire with particles.

If it's a scrapped secret discovery, they would obviously have removed it, right?

I still want to know what it does, but the fact that it no longer falls is something I thought it'd be worth making a thread about.

 

Tbh i would like the idea that in the quest mixed feelings, when rensa escaped, she hid her hiding place below the pond, might be a good use for it

Iirc there are particles and a wire next to the pond (east of it i think ?) and we might have to use an item on that, which one ? idk :/
