/kill only takes you back to the last town you visited, which can't really be abused. Think about it like this, if I'm deep in some cave on Corkus and want to go back to Corkus City, I can use /kill. The next time it would be convenient enough to /kill myself back to Corkus City would be after at least several minutes worth of travel, and so coupled with a 3-10 second cooldown it wouldn't be easy to abuse!

I pointed this out on a thread a while ago, but if they bumped the soul point cap to 20 the current math would work out perfectly so you don't lose anything upon your first death. Soul points are bad system (or at the very least underused) right now and I think bumping the cap would solve most of the problems people have with them.

Best solution for this imo is to replace the SP cost of /kill with a timer of some length, maybe 5 minutes. It would also be good if the SP cost of scrolls was removed, though that's a separate issue.

Just today I got stuck under a carpet while lootrunning in Nesaak, and my pouch was full of rare, valuable ingredients. I naturally had no scrolls on me as I was lootrunning, not that they would've worked anyways. I eventually decided to risk a Yeti Fur and Tough Bone reagent, and used /kill- this for some bizarre reason teleported me to Elkurn (They really need to fix that). And for some reason, I was spared losing the ingredients in my inventory, even though my Soul Point meter saying I'd lose 20% of all materiel's.

They say not to question a good thing, but has the CT listened to our pleas and removed the detrimental effects of /kill?

When you die the game rolls a 20% on all the ingredients inside your inventory, so you got lucky with your death
    its a game mechanic

Elkurn and Nesaak is really close. So not that surprising.

Also if you're lootrunning in Nesaak the only valuable ingredient would be lunar charm, and maybe large lapis. I'd recommend running better places with chances of mythic.
