Videogame Ost Thread

Hello! Have you ever played a video game and really enjoyed the music, but went online and no one seems to be talking about it? Here's the place to put it! You do not have to have played the games you put here, you just have to like the music.

I've always had a soft spot for the Snowpoint City score, and this remix really took it to the next level!:

I’m surprised that no one’s mentioned Super Mario Galaxy yet.







All of the tracks in the game are good, these are just the ones that stand out

 

I would have, but thought it too obvious to be a meaningful addition to the thread, though I guess it's fair since everyone is just posting Pokémon music. Still, yeah, Galaxy has an absolutely fantastic soundtrack, far above any Mario game before and since in my opinion.

As for my own contributions to the thread, Machinarium has a fantastic, if unconventional, soundtrack:

Also can I just say that I think that video game OSTs are underrated by musicians, but extremely overrated by gamers. It just seems like people sing the praises of music that is otherwise quite unremarkable, just because it accompanies a game they already like.

 

You can post any music from any game. The game doesn't have to be relatively unknown, just the track from it. Also I do agree with your statement about gamers overrating music, although the only games I've played with good music are Terraria and Stardew Valley, I haven't played any other games including pokemon but I do enjoy good music

I don't really have lot of tastes when comes to music. But here's some of my favorites in all of the video game ost.





Im suprised no one has yet mentioned Xenoblade with its god tier music.





These last two are truly great ost in very good platform games that i liked lot.

This battle music really pumps me up sometimes, it is really addicting to listen to.


This one is a polar opposite to the first one, its really enthusiastic and uplifting. Really does remind me of summer at times.


This song I like a lot because I feel like it really represents the character its made for, plus its catchy.


This one is more nostalgic since it was one of my favourite mariokart tracks from the Wii (3DS remix is really nice.)
