Tool Wynncraft Npc Voice Mod Looking For Voice Actors

What is Wynncraft VP?
Wynncraft Voice Project is an upcoming mod which goal is to add voices to quest npcs.

Why?
I have lost count of how many people said that they don't want to play Wynncraft because they have to read so much text and to be real, I can't really blame them. If you do all the quests it is almost like you have read a whole book. With a mod like this, all these (lazy) people would no longer have to read the text and it would be a good chance that they played wynncraft, which means more players!

Another reason why a mod like this would be great is for dyslexic people that have a hard time reading text. If all the stories would be read out it would allow them to play Wynncraft much easier!

Lastly, in my opinion, it would also be amazing for us normal Wynncraft players to have so that even if you want to do a quest again you can still take part of the dialogue without reading what the npcs say for the third time. So if you want to experience the story again you can do so easily

How?
Voices
The plan is to get as many different voices as possible so that we don't need to have many duplicate voices. All these people will be required to have a quite good microphone and we will try to get them by shouts, this forum post, and community posts from YouTubers. We might also hire some voice actors for some of the characters that act multiple charachters.

Coding
The code is now finished and I ended up doing most of the work with a bit of help from @Sockmower :D

How you can help
We need a ton of people that are willing to act a character. The only requirement is having a quite good microphone and be willing to go full into the role. There are a ton of roles, if you would like to only say a few lines then you can get a character that only has a few. Every person counts so if you got a decent microphone, I would love if you could voice act one character <3

This sounds sick! Could we volunteer to do some voices given we have good microphones?

 

Definitely! But right now I think it is better to focus on the coding and getting people for the voices later on

Ima just put my vouch for a voice volunteer here. Ik how to code but im 100% willing to help with voice acting

 

I may have to get a spit blocker and set up a decent dampening but I have some software and some gigging quality mics and will help out wherever I can, this sounds like an amazing concept and I will and am looking forward to helping!!!

 

When the time comes you're looking for voice actors, my friend is like a pro voice actor and I can give. you his connections. He'll definitely volunteer especially if I reccomend him.

Genius idea. Hell you could collab with wynntils and add it there too. I'll gladly voice anyone you want.

 

Probably an addon rather than a full feature, because they files would be giant.

But you could use the framework if needed

This sound like an amazing idea, I will definitely be using it! As much as I would like to do some voice acting my microphone is terrible :(

Okay dyslexic wyncrafter checking in!

Holy cow this is why I don't do the quests and I prof instead. Most of the time the text is to fast for me to read and I can't figure out whats going on so if I try to read it I just wind up dead or missing the animations.

Anyway mostly just commenting to say this is gonna be super useful to people who struggle with reading so thanks for doing it.
