    Hello,

I've been getting a weird form of lag that I've never seen in Minecraft before, and it only happens on Wynncraft. It rarely happens, but when it does, death is guaranteed and completely unavoidable.

Mobs around me move, make noises, and attack. I can't use or interact with anything, but I'm able to move around, yet the server thinks I'm standing completely still. After I die, the lag suddenly stops completely, assuming don't get disconnected with a "forcibly closed by the remote host" error. It's just the damnedest thing. I haven't seen anything like this before in any online multiplayer game, and while its happening, I'm not lagging on any other platform, including Discord.

Is anybody else having these strange things happen to them? Answers would be appreciated, please.
    Thanks.

That’s bizarre and definitely just a Wynn thing. I’ve had some strange lag issues happen to me before, but never that one in particular- do the mobs stop for a bit and then you get hit a bunch of times really fast or is it just not being able to move server side at all?

I thinks it's the internet connection, sometimes happens to me when my internet is >400 Ping. Or the connection to the proxy.

I used to have a similar bug when I used a newer version of Wynntils (But the screen was black so it's not what your saying), you should state if you're using mods though that'd be helpful. Actually I have this glitch ALL the time no matter where I go on the map, i'd like to say it's a internet thing because I used to get it all the time when playing HICH, ways of telling it's happening/ if it's internet issue is if your hearts disappear when this happens.

I’m assuming you’re playing on 1.16 because I was getting these spikes as well but only on 1.16 which is odd. Spells and inventory would function normally but every entity was lagging when I was fighting Charon which caused me to die but after I go back to the forgery everything resumes back to normal.

this happens a lot to me, just try to join newer hubs with less people in them. there isnt much you can do, since its server lag(the server has been hitting absurd numbers recently, so lag is expected).

Okay, so apparently relogging doesn't work. Once I noticed it was happening, I relogged with about 90% of my health left. I waited about 30 seconds before getting back in. Once I finally got in, my health was less than 10%, and I died almost immediately after noticing it.

Another weird thing is the lag seems to be client-side. When my friends and I were grinding for XP near Nemract, it happened to all the 3 of us on separate occasions. One of us would lag and then die, while the rest of us would be completely fine. Again, when this is happening, none of us are lagging on any other platform other than just Wynncraft.

Also, I'm currently on 1.14.4, and I have no mods besides Optifine installed.

For the most part, it's been happening at grind spots. Once in the graveyard near Nemract, another at that bandit spot behind Cinfras, and a couple other grind spot areas. At one point it happened when I was in the middle of going back to Cinfras, and I got killed by a single mob because of it. Never had these issues while being in LLevigar, or in any town/city.

dc usually doesn't work bc you remain present server-side, i'm pretty sure this is how ppl lose their entire inventory to olux mobs

I know exactly what you're talking about, and to my understanding it's technically neither client or server-side. Everyone knows that bad ping can cause you to lag, but your bandwidth i.e. throughput is just as important for a stable connection. (usually throughput, rather than ping, is the cause of the "forcibly closed by the remote host" error.)
I would recommend running an internet speed test. If your speed is any less than 2 or 3 MB/s than I would venture that it is your throughput. Try testing your computer with different internet (if you can) to see if you get the same issue.

This has happened to me before. It's mostly a server issue, because you said the mobs around you still move. If you are worried it keeps happening, submit a bug report in the Bug Reports section of the forums. If it teleports you back to the same spot, it's mostly a rubber-band effect.

Not always is it bandwidth, but it does play a part. It's happened to me several times before.

I've experienced lag like that before many times (not anymore). From what you described and what lag I've experienced, I'm guessing what is happening is that the connection is delayed. Like the mobs move around and they try to attack you but they keep going for spots you have just been in and you try to attack them with a spell but a few seconds later a spell shoots out where you were just walking. Its like there are two versions of your player, one that is a result of poor connection and one is a result of your game, its like watching your players actions from a few seconds ago (or minutes depending on how bad the connection is) you cant stop moving because when the connection catches up to the moment you stop moving, the mobs all attack you even though when you were standing still, they weren't even near you.

Is that correct? I'm not sure why this issue doesn't happen anymore, it could be because the internet at my mums house is good
