Game Made Crafted Gear Worse!

    Hello! I logged onto my alt today to check up on things, when I noticed something peculiar about 2 helmets I crafted a while back. The stats had seemingly been altered on these helmets, and sure enough- they have been!
    I fortunately took screenshots of these helmets I had made for my Shaman, and you'll notice that they have been noticeably nerfed to an alarming degree.

    Let's start with the first helmet I made of the two. I didn't quite understand durability at the time, and so I had tried to max its stats. It used to have just 1 Durability with much more desirable stats, but now look at it!

    Here is the superior helmet I had crafted once I learned how durability functioned (And once I got the necessary ingredients).

    I worked hard to get my hands on those rare reagents, one of which is limited to your total number of character slots. As you have probably already deduced, these helmets were my first ever experience with the crafting system. To see all of that hard work go down the drain feels like a stab in the back, to say the least!
    Can anyone here please offer insight into whether this is a bug or an intentional change? Thank you!

    Yeah, a lot of ingredients were changed, it's intentional.

    I'm confused as to what you mean by "Worse", because in the screenshots BOTH gear gained durability and the first one had less negative walk speed after change, and the first one got Mana regen instead of mana steal so that's good? And if you are referring to the neutral spell damage, its only 45? Doesn't affect much PLUS the gear is only level 17 and level 10...
    Also please stop calling ingredients regents it really hurt my eyes
    P.S. those ingredients aren't even that hard to get considering its only level 20 or less, try grinding elephelks
    P.S.S this is also why you shouldn't do profs on your first playthrough.

    Both pieces of gear gained minute bonuses to durability, but lost the raw spell damage and Mana Steal. They both had Mana Regen to begin with, as I used Familiar Essence for both helmets. What doesn't make sense to me is that both pieces of gear suffered significant losses in damage, despite the Paralyzing Spore ingredient not being altered. As far as I can tell, only Blood of the Nivlan Beauty was reworked!
    The level of these items is irrelevant, what matters here is that they have been unfairly edited. Since only the raw spell damage was removed, why is my Mana Steal missing, and what triggered the changes in each other stat?

    Please stop patronizing me. I knew these helmets wouldn't hold up in the longrun, but I made them with the knowledge that I wouldn't be progressing at a rapid rate. It took quite a lot of time to grind for the Blood of the Nivlan Beauty, not to mention the fact that Familiar Essence is limited to one per character! My Shaman playthrough will be with my group of friends who are new to the wonderful world of Wynn, and due to conflicting schedules we can't meetup often. Therefore, I reasoned it would be a valid investment to craft this helmet and a few other items for my Shaman.
    Regardless, it was a fun introduction to crafting that won't be spoiled by your sour attitude. It will be a bit soiled if these helmets aren't properly adjusted to what they should be, though!

    Ah I guess its the new -40% from the familiar essence that ruined it then, just simply craft a new one and you should be good (familiar essence isn't limited to one per character FYI, you can simply buy some from TM, similarly for other ingredients)

    That still doesn't explain where the Mana Steal these hats had went! Were any of these changes listed in the update notes? I peeked through them and the changelog, but my search came up dry. Also, while Familiar Essence is now tradable and somewhat cheap in the TM, Blood of the Nivlan Beauty most certainly is not- so just starting over isn't exactly a solution here.

    I believe most of the changes are listed on the item team thread at some point. If not I'm sure someone in the profession tryhard discord sever or the atlas inc discord server could find you a changelog.

    Familiair essence now also give -40% ingredient effectiveness to ingredients touching it. Not just to those not touching it. You had the mana steal ingredient next to the familiair essence in the original recipe. Identifications round down, the new item has 0.6/4 mana steal, which rounds down to 0/4 mana steal. Which shows as no mana steal.

    they also nerfed my bullying scrolls, damn, used to be -30 ws for 30 mins

    Ah, that explains it! Welp, it would appear that Familiar Essence is terrible now- I've tried reconfiguring it with various ingredients in the WynnData Crafter, but no matter what I do it is not compatible with Blood of the Nivlan Beauty. The best helmet I could create with the Mana Regen identification would be this, and without it the helmet could look something like this.
    Item refunds are impossible, right? I wish I could just deconstruct these helmets to their basic parts- these reagents and the Tier 3 materials I used weren't easy to acquire, and I dread the daunting task of gathering them all up again!

  13. Im confused. It looks more balanced than worse. Sure somethings got worse but to make up for those lost stats some parts got buffed. Also these are early game items and in early game you swap out gear in like 2 hours so you probably won't care that much after you started to grind.

    I would agree that these ingredients are more balanced now (Though Familiar Essence got nerfed too hard imho), but my main issue is that the days of preparation that went into these helmets has been wasted.
    I understand the need for retroactively altering reagents, but we shouldn't end up with undesirable gear as a result. If these rare ingredients had the same stats that they do now when I crafted the helmets, I would have switched up the recipe quite a bit!

    And yes, I know that low level crafted gear will quickly be replaced. But as I said earlier, I wasn't going to be rapidly leveling up on my Shaman, so this helmet would have suited him quite well!

    I used Tier 3 Materials for the best health and durability, and gathered all of the ingredients myself. Familiar Essence at the time was No-Trade, and Blood of the Nivlan Beauty is far too pricy in the Trade Market, so I farmed Nivlan Beauty's instead. The largest time commitment I was forced to make in crafting these was the gathering of Tier 3 Granite Ingots and Oak Paper, which took forever. The Nivlan Blood was easier to acquire since it didn't require nearly as much Player interaction (I would go AFK in Nivla Woods and check the surrounding area every now and then), but it still was a massive time sink!
    As for the Paralyzing Spores, I have a million of those from loot chests. But yeah, from what I can tell I am not missing anything here, though if there are superior methods please share!

    why are you grinding so much for level 17 armor that will be terrible in 10 levels?

    Dude, as I have repeatedly said crafting these helmets was a fun introduction to the world of crafting, and they wouldn't be quickly discarded given the slow pace of leveling my Shaman would take. Now if you're finally finished patronizing me, I would appreciate it if you ceased parroting your previous comments and only post when you have something relevant to add to the conversation.
