SPOILER Your Opinions On Laris Fate

This actually fits some of my theories about how the dern questline will pan out after AHC (which I expect will “unlock” the portal behind the npc).

My predictions are:
- corrupted lari as a miniboss preluding the dern beast (think Orphion but it’s lari I guess)
- Qira rebelling against the dern beast. I’m 90% sure she’s an escaped + rebelling creature of dern as it explains her dark magic as well as desire to create an army which she keeps for what appears to be no reason (she’s apathetic to gavel it seems)
- summative battle featuring help from some of the major npcs we’ve helped (people like maxie, Ava, orienor, axelus, maybe tasim). It kinda sounds like a lotr ripoff but it’d be a cool conclusion.


Then there’s a few crazier ideas (not theories cos they aren’t very grounded in current lore):
- only weakening the dern beast so balance is restored
- taking on part of the light and dark (typical “master of two worlds” trope here)
- getting killed by the dern beast through the questline, going to death’s realm, meeting bob/aledar/theorick/other notable dead heroes and being sent back to life


Well this comment turned out 99% unrelated to lari’s fate didn’t it?

 

If a creature of light can be corrupted then a creature of dark can too. I think she will survive by corrupting the dern beasts.

Imo

1)
- Lari fought once she got in Dern, creating Corruption in the process
- Lari is either dead or currupted, Beast faces Corruption problem (I really doubt Bak'al can just snap his fingers and say "Corruption be gone" and everything would be ok), this is not sire though

2)
- Lari is either corrupted or dead with no side effects

 

I would rather have a choice like in Undertale where you can either kill or spare (like with Asgore and Flowey)

i would choose kill without a moment of hesitation

 

Tbh. Im more expecting lari to be fine but completely traumatised/terrified due to dern.
No way shes dead. Possibility shes corrupted but tbh im iffy there. Heck might be a case of she just tries to resist it like theirick does. Hopefully we dont have to kill her though. (Also isnt her strength tied to orphion? With you probably saving orphion that'd probably make her strong enough to fight back)

Yeah this, i really really hope she's not corrupted or dead or whatever but fine and traumatized, would drive to more room for character development

 

It is quite certain she is. Light withing Dern...

 

I mean right now darkness is surviving just fine in the realm of light, so i dont really see a problem with that, at worst she would be somewhat corrupted but sane

 

A coordinated attack by Dark parasites on the light realm versus Lari just hopping into Bak'al's portal which probably leads to, you know, exactly where Bak'al wants and then saying "What is that thing? Stay away from me!" and getting cut off, but yeah the reasonable conclusion is obviously that she's just fine.

 

yeah i was thinking the same about her bringing back Bob , it would be epic

or lari just goes god mode and brings him back even tho hes dead

 

if anything I think it'd be pretty rad in a quest to stumble upon lari just mowing down a bunch of darkness creatures like doomguy

Kinda like Isabelle in the Doom Crossing video. That would be rad.
