SPOILER Theory Regarding Orphion (major Spoilers?)

I'm dumb, I worded that badly
I meant the eye.

 

I'm actually a strong believer of the theory that the Dern Beast is female. To summarise:

The dern beast appears to be a dragon, the boss will probably use the ender dragon model. The reason it seems to be a dragon is because:

• You don't get to see the Dern beast's throne in the ultimate discovery, the room seems to go backwards a bit more and beyond the throne. This suggests that the dern beast lays down on a slab instead. That's the type of thing a dragon would do.
• The dragon's eye bracelet could be talking about the Eye and how it belongs to a dragon
• The Eye is purple in colour like the Ender Dragon's eyes

What's another Dernic dragon? The one from Dead Island. This implies that the Dern Beast possibly laid an egg meaning that ''she'' is female.

I made a thread covering this theory last year but it didn't have much evidence. I think I have some better ideas about it now and will make an in-depth thread later.

Light + Darkness = Corruption
Meaning if Lari fights, Corruption will occur.

Also Corruption is not limited to the Nether, although it came from it to Wynn. Corruption is created everywhere Light and Darkness clashes.

 

I hadn't considered that.

But Orphion is light, but he isn't corrupted even though a dark parasite is leeching him.

My personal theory is that there was no battle, Orphion was weakened and the parasite infiltrated him.
After a brief discussion there were thoughts that Orphion didn't battle on purpose so the Corruption isn't created and RoL doomed.

 

Oh so that makes sense why he's against pacifism.
He doesn't want Lari/you to make the same mistakes he did.

 

Maybe, but I would see him not fighting back as more of "I'd rather be decayed than have my home turned into literal hell" than being overly pacifistic
He's not really against pacifism or having morals, he just believes violence is necessary for the light to survive in this case

What if lari gets in because she gets taken through the portal by bak'al? Like she wouldnt be able to go in on her own but now shes a sort of "Prisoner"

Dark and Light... They oppose. They clash. They create a cleansing flame. But, allow me to ask.
Is the lumberjack evil for chopping the tree? Is the tree evil for resisting the metal?
Is the person who started the flames evil for burning up the leaves? Is the person who brings water evil for dousing the fire?
Is a victim evil for striking with tenfold force against those that have struck them but once?
And most importantly... Are any of these things, despite being done by them, light, or dark?
What connection does a primordial force, that willfully and consciously affiliates and interacts with those with morals, have with moral leanings of mortals- still even applicable to immortals?

Its also worth noting that eldritch horrors of this nature don't usually have genders, as to keep them even more inhuman. Not to say it can't happen, but idk.

It seems to me that dark creatures don't necessarily passively spread darkness, or at least not enough to cause corruption, and that the dernmites and parasite are eating the light, not clashing with it.

 

I always assumed this just meant the Eye. Nexus of Light is a lvl 80-100 raid, so if you do all the quests/dungeons/raids in order, it comes before Eldritch Outlook. You have to defeat EO in order to access the Dern Portal area, so it matches what Orphion says about who you have to face before taking on the Darkness.

As for the identity of "her", I'm going to assume it's the Dern Beast for now, and that they're brother/sister (please don't be that though, that's so lame).

But the parasite Decayed Dullahans face, the patch of ground near Lari's camp, and when it attacked Orphion, most of Gavel got Decayed. Also, could you put that in a spoiler? It might ruin it for begginer players

I meant that the parasite wasn't constantly leaking darkness into its surroundings, not that it didn't emit or produce any darkness at all. It's pretty clear some of its attacks are darkness-based. And the decay isn't caused by a clash of light and dark, it's because the mites have been eating all the light in the northern forests for several centuries.
