SPOILER Theory Regarding Orphion (major Spoilers?)

Disclamer: I got this info through videos and treads, my highest class is lv 77 so my lore might be inaccurate

So at the end of Nexus of light, we get this dialogue from Orphion saying this:
"Before you face the Darkness head on though, There is one more you must face."
"You must stop her, or the war will never end."
So Orphion talks of a female you must defeat in order to take down Dern. So who could it be?
So first, I eliminated all the people it can't:
It can't be Lari, she's already in Dern.
It can't be Qira. She is probably a Dern creature, but due to the fact she is building an army and not attacking Gavel with it she's probably raising the army to overthrow Dern.
So who could it be?
We don't know the gender of the Dern Beast, so maybe Orphion is talking about the eye, making Dern Beast a girl? It makes sense, due to the fact she oversees everything and could easily stop an attack on Dern by commanding the Dernic creatures. Also, your supposed to do NoL at lv. 80 so you shouldn't have killed the Eye by now.
It could be the Fruman Queen, but that is debatable. We don't know much about her, so we can't say for sure she is connected to Dern.

So who do you think is most likely Orphion is talking about? I think it's the Eye.

I'd probably say the Queen of Fruma since she has access to magic that regular citizens of Fruma don't have, and because that magic is exclusive only to the Fruman Monarchy, and that probably means that the Queen of Fruma has a connection to Dern in some way.

Also waiting for the Therck simps to come.

 

I think the dialogue for Orphion is not final (though the "you must face her" part is likely going to stay in). The Dernic Beast is always referred to as an "it" so I don't think that's the case, furthermore Orphion says in literally the previous dialogue line "before you face the Darkness head on" so he can't be talking about the Dernic Beast.

I don't think he's talking about Qira or Lari either, but at this point we really don't know who Orphion was talking about. The most likely candidate is the Queen of Fruma but again we don't really know.

 

From 80-100 (100 being when we enter SE and start fighting the darkness, and 80 being when we canonically do the raid), there are actually very few females that we stop (or assume we will stop when they're added).

• Ozoth
• Nettik
• Thesead Mayor (kinda)
• Ava
• Fruma Queen (most likely 80-100)

Checking all of them for 1) being evil/needing to be stopped and 2) being able to influence the war of the realms:
It's not Gale, she's a friendly ghost, it's probably not Qira, she dislikes the darkness, it's not Ozoth or Nettik, they're not powerful/aware enough, and it's not Thesead Mayor or Ava, they're both on our side, leaving only Fruma Queen. Of course, we don't know what the Fruma Queen is actually like and whether or not she fits into what Orphion is saying, but it seems to me that literally everyone else we know of doesn't fit the criteria, so she seems like the most likely candidate just by process of elimination.

I personally doubt it's the dern beast - that creature has been set up as possibly the ultimate antagonist, so why would we face "her" before we face the darkness?

It's entirely possible that Orphion's referring to someone we don't know yet, and this is just a tease for a future storyline.

 

I strongly disagree with Fuma Queen, because that would sidetrack from current Fruma lore.
1) Fruma got its own problems
2) player's origin
3) no apparent or even plausible motive
4) why even do that? There is literally no reason for it

Bak'al has the power to make a portal, and in Cata's lore it hints at that. And the Eye just guards the entrance, the Eye isn't the entrance

 

Bak'al is definetly not helping you, and not everyone is an assasin/rich enough to obtain a Cata.

 

"Despite the existence of the Nether Portal, few believe that it is possible to open such rifts with sheer force alone. None believe that a tool with enough power to accomplish such a monumental feat could exist. And yet.." That means you can (probably) open a portal with sheer force. Not just spending stacks of LE on a Mythic Dagger or trying to seduce Bak'al

Your custom title says otherwise. The Corruption is from the Nether. The Decay is from dern. That means Lari probably isn't Corrupted
