Would Making A Bot That Reads Chat Be Bannable?

Basically, I want to make a bot that can read the ingame chat for messages like the bomb bell or guild chat, and posts those messages possibly with some filtering into a public discord channel/server. Looking at the rules, it would be 100% OK since it's not using any macros for movement, clicking, or really interacting with the client in any way (except for chat), and it's not a "hacked client" either.

To be clear, all the bot would do is look at the chat ingame and watch for specific messages, then repost them. It would simply afk at a pre-determined spot and not click or move.

It's not really a macro, since it doesn't interact with the chat other than simply reading it ingame. The closest it gets to actually being a macro in this way is automatically reposting to discord, an entirely separate program. Also in the rules, it says command macros are allowed, even though we aren't using them.

There also isn't any explicit rule banning bots, just the "no macros" rule mentioned and "no hacked clients".

 

Still sounds a bit sketchy to have a bot that reads chat messages like this, while you may have intended it to be a public discord server this could easily be used unfairly and would cause a disadvantage to other players. Also finding loopholes in things and exploiting them is bannable even if you did it before a rule is implemented.

 

Still it is a bot and bots are bannable, it was said by the moderation team several times.

the bombs tracker discord is specifically run by players because they aren't allowed to automate it. your bot would achieve this, which makes me believe that it would be against the spirit of the rules.
