Alrighty, I guess I shall speak my thoughts on this...
This could easily be used on a couple other examples if we stay in East Asia.
    1. In more recent history, the PRC and the ROC.
    2. Farther back, the Qing and The Kingdom of Tungning/Formosa
Why, well from how I remember it, both scenarios have the mainland Chinese force at the time before the conquest, that being the ROC and Ming, later the Kingdom of Formosa, going through a war with another side, that being the Manchus, later the Qing, against the Ming, and the PRC against the ROC. Later on we have both the Ming and the ROC loosing and fleeing to the Island of Formosa and depending on who you ask today, that is the area of Taiwan or Chinese Taipei. Taiwan/Chinese Taipei today is mostly not recognized as a legitimate country but, in a lot of rights, is given the respect of a country by other countries. The reason why Taiwan isn't considered a country is mostly down to the fact that it is basically the ROC in exile on the island of Formosa and isn't recognized as a nation by most nations, most importantly the PRC, who considers it a province of the PRC as Chinese Taipei.

Sound familiar? Indeed so, you have Corkus and Fruma, with Fruma being like the PRC and Corkus being like the ROC. Corkus is advanced and wants more international recognition, like Taiwan/Chinese Taipei. Now if you've learned from any of the movies of recent times, trying to incorporate recent history and politics usually ends in a disaster, not saying this is what Wynncraft will do of course. The most likely option I see them doing is either thinking up their own thing or, if using history, basing it off of something at least decades, if not centuries before as to not incur the wrath of offended fans. If using history, they can definitely use stuff like the French Revolution, the formerly mentioned war between the Manchus and the Ming, and possibly the Russian Revolution as that happened long enough ago that no one "should" get offended by it.

If kept in Japanese history, there is a spot in the Meiji Restoration where what was left of the old Tokugawa Shogunate fled to Hokkaido and set up the Republic of Ezo. It didn't last long and was retaken by the Japanese Empire 5 months later.

Now it would be interesting if they at least incorporated the element of Fruma having a civil war at one point, with the people who will become Corkus being the ones that lost, and then having fled to Corkus as to escape persecution.

Not just the roofs--the building itself sort of has the same shape as EO, especially the entrance. IMO.

EO is very symmetrical while Orphion's Nexus is more wacky and unexpectedly shaped. EO is a giant wall while the Nexus is a central castle.

This theory is wrong because jokes aside there is no war inside the Fruman walls.

Something interesting that was a byproduct of Japan's isolation (and this can be seen in China as well) was that they artificially slowed their advancement. By the time the U.S navy came chugging into Japan with steam boats, they were still in the medival period. Maybe we'll see something like this in Fruma?
