Lake Gylia is a reference to the real life geographical formation know as a “lake” which is typically a water filled body not connected to an ocean.

Lake Gylia is also a subtle reference to Lake Hylia from the Legend of Zelda series (Although Hylia is pronounced Hi-lee-a while Gylia is pronounced Gill-ee-a)

it was formed by a meteor impact, so it is specifically an impact crater lake.

Is there an official pronunciation? Because if not, I suppose neither of us are right :P

(Most people I've seen pronounce it Gill-ee-a or Gill-ya but idk I've seen lots of pronunciations of various things.)

    i am 80% sure its guy-lee-ah
because it sounds like a legend of zelda reference to lake hylia, which i believe is pronounced the same way. Forgive me if i'm wrong, pronunciation is hard

There is no official pronunciation because wynncraft players all come from different parts of the world and it's hard for there to be one pronunciation
But yeah idk I just always said Gill-ee-a

Humans are a reference to the real life species of ape, Homo Sapien.

According to a plate in Ava's workshop, the Avos eat rocks

Almuj is based around the idea of a real substance called sand, which is a large collection of grains

Nesaak is based on the popular real life object called Snow, which is formed when a liquid mix of hydrogen and oxygen better known as water go through very low temperatures

Death from Beyond The Grave is likely a Discworld reference (this one is serious)

It's thought that Mt. Wynn is based on the real geological structure known as Volcano, which is a mountain-like pile of rocks formed from tectonic activity. This is believed because of the lava at the top which is a classic trait of volcanoes. The same applies to Molten Heights, which is very likely because of the word Molten being used in its name

Some think that the mob ''Weak Zombie'' may be based on the mythical creature called Zombie. This is because they both share the trait of being a walking corpse

It's possible that the Ocean is based on real life bodies of water called Oceans. This is because they both consist mostly of water, have coral reefs, and have islands in them. This is unlikely however.

Archer is derived from a real-life soldier known as an "archer", used in Ancient Rome as well as other places around the world as a type of soldier commonly used in warfare.
Mage is a reference to a fictional person who knows how to wield magic(magic does NOT exist irl)
Warrior might be a reference to a standard melee fighter, however, this is unlikely and needs more evidence from the CT team.
Assassin could be a reference to real life assassins who kill people for payment, however, Wynn assassins do not get paid for killing things, so this one is shaky at best.
Shaman is a sneaky reference to a person in irl tribes, who is generally seen as a magic wielder or can heal people effectively.

Some of these are shaky and need more evidence in order for them to be 100% true, but it's a start

Many of the characters in Wynncraft are references to the real life living creatures called "People"

The trees in Nivla woods are a very clever and subtle reference to real life plant structures called "Trees"

The long stretch of land in Wynn referred to in game as "Coastal Trail" is actually based on a real life structure called a "Beach." The devs have also said that they drew inspiration from other sources, such as "Coast" referring to the real life term used to describe a piece of solid ground with proximity to a large body of water. They also have said that the real life path used to mark out ways of travel called a "Trail" was used as inspiration.

The city of Llevigar is a nod to the real life human settlements called "Cities"

Gavel's meteors (Few people have ever put these snippets of information together) are based on astronomical objects called "meteors"

These are just a few of the things I learned today when poking around on the wiki >-<
