No i doubt they would add gateway island as it is a quest area, however if you say that it is unlikely they would stop adding provinces, after fruma, where else to go, sure you could add a province to the west but if they did that, they would completely box themselves in.

Anyway, maybe I'm just optimistic that one day they'd expand the ocean westward and remove the fact that the ocean is just a big lake becuase I've always hated that for some reason.

 

Looked last night, didn't find anything, I swear i remember a quest saying this.

Also, they could expained Apon stuff like the nether.

 

Remember a quest saying what? If it's the ocean mountains, that's a seaskipper dialogue referring to the Corkus Update.

This is probably THE biggest ultimate discovery so far to the overarching story, next to the SE ultimate. It explains so much about the realms, how it all began, the endless conflict between these two godly forces. The discovery lore really does give a sense of how brutal this war is, they've destroyed an infinite number of realms, and they will destroy an infinite number more. The question is: Why is Wynn special? Why are we getting the story of Wynn and not the story of another realm? Wynn seems to be special because it is a realm in which the light fades. Wynncraft is a story about the war of the realms (The logo literally has the words "War of the Realms" written in wynnic in the background).

I think the best line is: "Another day, another night, it continues in the worlds beyond. Forever it shall last."

Damn, this is a really poetic discovery, Huh? "Another day, another night" could be referring to how light fades at the evening and dark fades at daybreak. Perhaps Wynn is just the realm of setting sun? The light will fade and the dark will rise. In another realm, far in the future, will the dark fade and the light rise? This line seems to echo the endless cycle of day and night, which seems to be a metaphor for the war of the realms. If you interpret it this way, this is not the first time the light has faded or the dark has risen. Another reality could have had The Dern Beast afflicted with a light parasite?

I'd also like to point out: "Before time, it began."

Hmmmm, this seems to be worth taking apart, but we don't have a good understanding of other realms that lie beyond yet. It could point to the origin of our reality. Our realm seems to be one of infinite numbers, with Dern and The Light Realm as the two original, created before time?

 

Also does anyone know what "Ne du Valeos du Ellach" translates to?

Edit: So from a little poking around, I think it could be translated to "Neither the Light nor the Dark," or "Born from Light and Dark."

I could not find good translations of "Valeos" and "Ellach" but from context I think they mean light and dark. This is a possible approximation based on context and various possible languages translated. I'm not much of a linguist so if anyone has suggestions, please let me know :D

 

I tried to translate it too when it first came out in the hero beta, but I didn't find anything either. It might either be a misspell or a nonsensical sentence, which I hope isn't the case.

 

I feel like it should translate to SOMETHING. My first thought was Irish due to the fact that the Wynn CT has used hidden dialogue in Irish as part of the Eye, but on further inspection, I'm pretty sure it isn't that. Maybe someone who worked on the discovery personally could comment on this...? O.O

It could be a form of Old English which could make sense, some of the words can translate into various European languages, but I'm still not much of a Linguist

 

From me looking it up I got "born of (I guess Valeos means either Light or Dark) of (and I also guess Ellach means either Light or Dark)"

 

Actually the portal to the Dern realm looks like our nether gate and the portal back to Ternaves looks like the pre-1.20 RoL portal.

 

I don't want to get spoilers so I hope no one has stated this, but I believe that the gateway realm is simply a realm (we learn in RoL 4 that there are many others, but the cutscene focuses only on 3) that has allied with dern.

 

I wonder what story there will be to tell after the Dern beast is done with.

 

Most likely, there will be no end to the fight, just like they said. Probably it will be a raid/dungeon where you almost beat him/weaken him before the raid/dungeon ends. Just like previously stated, the war of the realms is endless. We are only 1 person from an infinite amount of realms, what are the chances we will stop something that has being going on for eternities and is seemingly endless?

In this quote, it shows even more that the war is seemingly endless, and albeit Wynn being a very interesting realm, there are an infinite amount of dimensions that could have the same things happening, with said dimensions getting ravaged by the war of realms, so even though it may seem like we can kill the dern beast, chances are, that will never happen. So thus, there will be no end of the Dern Beast, nor the end of Orphion.

However, Wynncraft will probably add a lot more lore, including Fruma, without the end of the Dern Beast involved.

Also on the HSB part: no. One would assume that all overworlds behave similarly, with the same physics, but HSB has different physics and such. HSB follows different laws that Wynn and its own multiverse does not

 

what if Bak'al is the "Corruption Alternate Universe" version of Bob

 

It has been confirmed that Bak'al entered the Nether portal in Wynn and got corrupted, so I really doubt that he would've come from another alternate world.
