Who Is Stronger Canonically? Bob Or Lari?

We know that both Bob and Lari have the power to defeat Bak'al in a fight. Bob seems to be more proficient at this as we see in the Wynn plains ultimate discovery, however when it come to the player battling them, bob is far easier to defeat at ~lvl 75 than Lari is (Although Lari cant't actually kill the player).

So who is it?

 

Does Bob on LI count?

 

Well levels aren't canon. I think Bob is stronger because he's not a servant of the light and I'm pretty sure the Anya's penumbra lore explains that light alone can't defeat the dark. Also, Bob was someone able to (possibly) use his powers to lock away some powerful Dern creature(Nilrem's letters).

Bob at LI is just a recreation of dr. Legendary so it wouldn't count.

 

Probably Bob, even statistically. Lari's boss fight even at level was a breeze enough that you can easily push her shit in for a good 90 seconds before the guardian of the forest stops you.

Soloing Bob at level, on the other hand, is extremely painful.

Additionally here, Bob is more than likely parsecs more experienced in genuine combat than Lari is granted his lore and full mastery of four of the five schools of combat including wand lore. He might not have the light, but he doesn't need the light to put up more of a fight any day or any night, right?

Lari won't kill anyone so I'd say she isn't as strong.

 

Obviously Yahya is canonically the strongest character.

 

As-is, I’d say Bob is stronger based off of experience. He’s been fighting nonstop for like 100 years in the province of war; even if he isn’t stronger magically he’d still probably have the fighting chops to win.

 

iirc Bob wields the power of light and dark which makes him capable of defeating any creature of light and any creature of dark with ease. The only case where he couldn't win was against the Dern beast, but he sealed the Dern beast away anyway with his own life force.

Lari is some pathetic elf who refuses to fight in any situation

Well, we don't know the true power level of Martyn except for the fact that he's probably an Olm, so I don't think we can say for sure with that.

 

Old man martyn would trap them in an enldless cycle of battle, and when they both cant keep going, thats when the Chad Martyn steps in and whoops them

you guys are over thinking this whole “light can’t beat dark” thing.
Someone with light magic could easily wipe out a dark person, and vice versa. Being a being of light or dark doesn't give a super direct advantage over the other, and being neither doesn't give an advantage either. The penumbra lore relates to light and dark as an existential force and their true, primal nature. The two can never permanently snuff eachother out. They’re fated to fight eachother forever in this horrendous war, no matter how many light beings kill dark beings or vice versa. Some other party that isn’t necessarily part of this whole war, and isn't tied to light or darkness or corruption is needed to finally put an end to it.

Yahya is an otherworldly being of both light and dark, ascending from the pits of hell and descending the steps to heaven simultaneously. He is more powerful than the Dern Beast and Orphion combined. Of course he could end it. However, the mushrooms created by the clash of light and dark are too delicious, so he won’t.

 

but if he's a being of light and dark, that means he wouldnt be able to, because Oculism said only a person not tied to any of that would be able to stop the war.
