I mean you have to make a conscious decision about what items are worth keeping, how many potions you should bring, etc. which some people might find tiring or boring, and I completely understand that - but you do have lots and lots of space available on your bank, so it shouldn't really be a massive issue, since scrolls exist for fast travel. Inventory management is key

    First off:
    upload_2021-1-12_8-55-40.png
is this true, and if so who is it

I found Wynn through the Hypixel forums about a year ago. Can't remember the exact post, but it was something along the line of "HSB vs Wynncraft." In the next few weeks, I got scammed out of 50% of my net worth. I already was not a fan of the endless grinding in HSB, but I played on. I don't even remember the timeline anymore, but I left sometime in January of 2020. I left because it was getting quite boring, everything was about the grind. The minuscule stat gains were annoying as you had to grind for so long to get them. Otherwise, you just had to use a lot of coins to get reforges. There was also a meta that it seemed like you had to follow to get more money, xp, etc.

When I came to Wynn, I kind of just went around doing random things. The game doesn't punish you for not doing things in a particular way. I played a bit, and eventually stayed because I liked it a lot more. I enjoyed that not everything was based on money and grinding. I kind of just progressed through the game slowly, taking occasional breaks. These breaks did not impact my success like they did with HSB.

I spent quite a lot of time on the forums without an account, reading the threads, and wondering if I should join the forums. I eventually got discord, where I joined the Wynncraft discord. I found that actually being a part of the community was fun, and eventually went on to make the forums account that I am using right now.

TL;DR: Joined because of hypixel forums thread. Left HSB because it was toxic and grindy. Came to Wynn and stayed because of the community.

Tbh I think Hypixel Skyblock has huge potential but the devs really ruined it by introducing RNGjesus, not fixing dupes, and not making proper item balancing, rushing out updates, and generally hacking, botting, and IRLtrading and gems really just ruined the experience for me.
When HSB first came out I really enjoyed the collections, the map, the minions and I really enjoyed the fishing update too, the fishing monsters RNG was pretty nice (yeah unlike 7/13000) and made fishing more interesting. I remember the good times when Lapis armor was the best and ember rod was the best weapon, and when economy wasn't inflated, good old times

Edit: And dungeons too, when you compare dungeons with wynncraft, HSB is just boring. The mobs are basically all the same from floors 1-7 (and likely for future floors too), just health and damage differences. When you look at wynn there's just more variety with dungeons, different builds, themes and backstory to each dungeon, whereas HSB is just same thing over and over again with more health and more damage to its mobs. Then there's the bosses. HSB bosses are simply just high health high speed and damage without any spells or abilities, when you compare HSB bosses to the eye, the difference is just there.
Also do I need to mention slayers, literally crap tons of kills (and no way to speed it up unlike mob totems in ingredient grinding in wynn), then the boss is literally just high health, high speed and high damage. If you look at Wynn the bosses, such as Bob, theorick actually requires a bit of dodging and some skill to beat instead of just standing in the same place and spam click to kill the boss like HSB

Economy-wise, HSB failed cuz they did a bad job on tracing the duped items and they just let exploits (which causes ppl to earn an unacceptable amount of money) slip and not at least do a rollback (the most damaging yes simplest fix). Meanwhile, our Trade Market is still closed just to sniff out every LE dupers (and other stuff idk). Honestly, when you grind just to earn money (and some stats that most people already maxed via exploits and uncaught macros), and realize that people can just flip their money, do exploits or IRL trading to earn 1000x faster than me, I just don't see a point grinding those virtual currency legitimately anymore.

Content-wise and imo, HSB focuses on updates that can cause longer grinding while Wynncraft (hey I'm new, but I do play the game and read the Wiki) focuses on updates that can add or deepen the lore. While HSB did add Dungeons, which also very interesting lore-wise, they just don't have a dedicated team to develop it (such that they literally cancelled 3 bosses and announced a long pause on Dungeons). For those who like grinding or just wanna achieve in the largest Minecraft server, sure I cannot argue. But for those who like story and lore, HSB just isn't nearly as good as Wynncraft.

Community-wise, see how many crapposts and rants in the HSB forums and none are deleted (except, you know, thirty posts)? Well, people already discussed that above so I don't need much explaining. Meanwhile, I can see the staff team here actively participate the forums, instead of trying to stay silent. Plus, well, the replies are not toxic. This type of community just feels way more friendly and welcoming, as a human being.

Let's face it, HSB had its glorious days, but it's now beyond repair. Resetting is also out of the question.

Imo HSB WAS great game, it had different armors and every was good for something, grind wasnt that necessary and it was a fresh exprerience. But most of the 0.7+ updates just added new sword+armor with higher stats than current meta set. Another thing I dislike is how they promised more new content in p2w update but instead cancelled 3 dungeon floors. Honestly, dungeons and 0.9 were main reasons why I quit sb, I just had no hope that this game will become something more than endless and toxic grind for unbalanced items.

One notice: HBS has supposedly 250k players on average, while Wynncraft has only 1-1.1k on average.

If the numbers would be the same there would be much more toxicity. That is inveitable. More players = more toxicity. It is partially why HBS is so toxic. Large numbers.

I disagree actually, if Wynncraft ends up with 250k players it would be more toxic than 1k players but will be 99% less toxic than HSB. Why? It lies in game design.
HSB claims to be a PVE game, but in truth its more of a PVP. The end is a prime example to show this. People compete to kill enderman in spooky festival, people compete to kill zealots for the eye, and even the reward system is beneficial to the better players and the worse players will just get trash (dragon kill rewards). Compare that to Wynn, the party system means that people gain xp together regardless of who kills mob (and assists also get 100% xp), dungeon parties allow bad players to be carried by good players and is also beneficial for good players since the bad players usually throw bombs. Wynn is built to encourage cooperation more, but even if without cooperation its still playable. HSB is a zero-sum game where if the other player killed the mob they get drop you get nothing so in general there is going to be a lot more competition rather than cooperation.
"STOP STEALING MY MINI-BOSSES YOU MOTHER-F***ING NON" "YOU RUINED OUR S RUN WHY ARE YOU SO BAD JUST QUIT ALREADY OMFG" yeah those get thrown around a lot.

Edit: this is also why I think more players are good, plus the wynn economy is actually deflating instead of inflating like any other economy games, so more players = more quest = more emerald in the market so its good for the wynn economy too (assuming that dupe emeralds are removed)

Community isn't very toxic. The people who partake or relate to that community like to think of themselves as toxic but the community really isn't. It's mostly made of 11 year olds who can't take an insult. It is semi-toxic but not nearly as bad as people consider it.

Honestly HSB's economy is actually pretty good. Millions are generally not too difficult to get and most things are in the millions. Ofc there is always profit margins, but its not like people in other games where a normal diamond pickaxe would be set to billions. In HSB the value of coin is pretty decent, but because there are so many people, when there is a new item introduced or good items, people just spend crazy amounts leading to rises in value.
