Hello From Hypixel Skyblock

so uh i quit hypixel skyblock a while ago. i heard that wynncraft is much better than skyblock in many ways, so im trying it now.

does anyone have any tips/guides for a new player? any responses would be appreciated

Do quest and don't skip text.

Learning the lore is kinda fun, but don't rush too hard.

Minimize Professions for your first run

Explore the handcrafted world and run from danger until you can handle it

Party up with people and make friends.

If you have questions, the wiki and us are always here to help. But I do have some tips for new players.
1. Do quests. They are far more fun than grinding and give you neat rewards.
2. Don't be toxic, this is kinda obvious if you play Skyblock you know how toxic the community is
3. Use anything you find, a build isn't a requirement until the end-game (So 85+)
4. Don't get worried about professions and crafting yet.

Funny how there's so many posts about ppl saying Wynncraft is better than Skyblock in their Forums, but the forums mods don't care.
Even better, nobody disagrees with it.

To give you some advice to start, I would try to experience every quest to the fullest, since learning the lore is pretty fun and can actually get you wrapped up in the story. They also give XP and some other cool rewards.

The class I would start out with would be a Mage since they have a Heal spell, which is really useful if you're in a pinch. I wouldn't worry too much about builds until you are Lv 90.

Professions are kind of a side-quest thing, although I would do them to prepare for a new update coming soon.

If you ever need help with a quest, go into the planning parlor or use the #looking_for_group channel on the Wynncraft Discord, which will be especially useful for quests like Bob's Lost Soul and ???.

Honestly I think one of the biggest contributing factors to the toxicity of HSB is the amount of players. Pretty sure the average HSB player count averages about 20x the Wynn count on a general basis, and that's just the online players. Add the incredible amount of sh t posters and boom.

 

i mean, i go to HSB and chat is flooded with "POG <>{}<> BUYING ASPECT OF END !!! DM OFFERS <>{}<> OOF" which imo makes HSB sound like a generic SMP server where everyone floods chat...
in wynn, chat and player interaction is much less, and not just because of the smaller playerbase but also because wynn doesnt exactly have a central area (other than detlas i guess, but idk) and servers are the entire world map unlike HSB where each server is just one area, meaning players are more likely to be near each other when in the same lobby

 

same for me. i still play skyblock but not a lot, now im playing wynn

 

other than sb, in wynn, quests are actually worth doing and provide a fun experience, unlike sb where its just spend money to get like a fucking talisman or something. how fun.
also, in the end game wynn is still kinda grindy (depending on what u do in ur endgame) similar to end game sb.
still prefer wynn over sb tho. any day of the week.

also might be important to remember that wynn is an mmorpg while sb is.. idk. just an mmo.

The best bit of advice I can give is that Wynn is kind of a slow burn at the start if you’re new. It takes time to figure out the ropes, but it’s very fun once you do start figuring things out. I’d focus on doing quests and dungeons and keep an eye out for discoveries, since those tend to be more interesting than straight grinding.

Some tips that I could give you are,

- Don't rush levels, take it at your own pace. Otherwise, you're going to be burnt out fairly quickly.

- Try out all the quests if possible on your first play through. Although the starter quests might be tedious and boring it gets better the further you go. Some quests requiring past completions so it's best to try out all of them. Additionally, by completing all the quests you are taking in the full experience.

- Download Wynntils with forge. Although the game itself is mod-free, Wynntils is like the Skyblock Addons of HSB, if you get what I mean.
