Am I The Only One Who Thinks Hollow Knight And Wynn Have Some Similarities

Title, at least their map design feels quite similar and the lore in both games are extremely complex, might just be me going insane tho

 

Not really. The way light and dark (since I assume that's the lore parallel you're talking about) work in both games is really different in relation to the player character and the world design is different entirely considering Hollow Knight's genre.

in HK, you're exploring and in every nook and cranny there's just a snippet of lore, from what i've read seems like if you want to decipher the lore, you have to find all the little bits which is similar to how HK handles it's world building

While it’s true that in both games lore is told to the player through in small portions the player can discover on their own, the main story of Wynncraft is very explicitly told to the player in quests. While you could argue that the true ending story in Hollow Knight is a main quest of sorts, much more player interaction is required to access the lore, so I wouldn’t really call it the same.

 

No, a lot of the main story is told through secret discoveries.
In fact, you can find out a lot about major plot points far before you would find out only doing quest if you did secret discoveries.

I've played a lot of both Wynn and Hollow Knight and I have to strongly disagree: these two games couldn't be more different. Complex lore that isn't super obvious isn't too unusual in games.
