Missing Quest Items?

I am missing two quest items, I completed the quests, and it said I got "Treasure boots" , and on a different quest it said " Thoracic", and I have not received either of them for some reason. Is there a reason behind this? Is it a known bug, or am I missing important items now?

 

Those aren’t quest items, those are quest rewards.
Was your inventory full when you collected the rewards? That might be the reason, and also they’ll be in unidentified form :)

 

Frick, I'm dumb , thank you for informing me that they come in unidentified form , just started playing 5 hours ago lol.

Also , why does my wood have stars, it's just wood...

 

The stars show how good-quality it is, from 1 star to 3.
The better the material, the better the crafted item.
P.S: I wouldn't reccomend doing professions on your first play-through, as they aren't really essential.
In the upcoming 1.20 update, you will need up to level 20 on each gathering profession to complete all quests, but most only have combat lvl requiremnets.

Yep, as it's been said above, ingredients (used in crafting) and materials (wood, fish, paper, string, etc) have different tiers.

Also yes, it's better to do quests on your first playthrough, because profs (gathering and crafting) become very grindy and time-consuming.
If you like doing profs, go ahead! There's nothing wrong with them, but quests are generally more fun to do :)
