hey what about we just unnerf loot quality all the way, triple the number of every LQ ing, remove LB softcap on chests, make chests fill like 10x faster and just give it like a week

But in all seriousness yes just rollback and give us another dxp week/weekend

Which is why I said we don't know how the data is stored, referencing both the structure and the frequency of backups. I wouldn't use API here because the communication isn't really relevant in a discussion of if the data exists or not.

You have no substantial proof that all that le is worthless, other than trust me it is.

How much real life time is lost for people who worked hard in the last years in order to get LE?

There actually really isn't as long as somebody is willing to exchange the item for money, it might not be worth that much, but it still has an exchange value which is the same as raw liquid.

Does anyone actually know the extent of what happened though? Apart from mythics being bought out, how has this affected the rest of the market?

It's not like VI powders are now worth a stack of le each. The damage is pretty much localized to mythics.

Calling for a week long rollback of the whole server especially after dxp and the Christmas sale makes no sense when we as the players, don't even know how badly the damage was.

If you think 1/3 will quit when they lose not even 1 week of progress, how many will quit when they lose multiple years of lootrunning, leveling classes (+ doing quests), trading etc in order to get raw LE which now are worth nearly nothing?

I've seen a lot of numbers thrown round. (100,000 stx of duped le, millions of duped le, 10eb being worth 10stx, mythics being 8 times more expensive) I think it's either different experiences for everyone or the problem is a whole lot worse than some people think

P.S The stats are contradictory and confusing which means the problem could be huge if getting worse

If nobody pays 10 stacks for a Wcheif, then it's not worth that much lol, you do know there needs to be both a seller and a buyer for a determination of value. Before the dupe, I could have listed a Wcheif at 10 stacks and nobody would have said the economy is over but for some reason doing that now is the end of the economy?

No... If there are more mythics, mythic prices go down (you noticed that with LQ for sure), if there are more raw LE mythic prices go up

How would personal trades work if the server was rolled back? Would literally everything be rolled back, including people who got banned? (I didn't get banned ofc, just an example)

Or there isn't a problem and people should start lootrunning right now to make legit bank while prices are still in their bubble, which is the right answer.

correct me if I'm wrong but isn't that kinda what prices are based on

the prices were nose diving before the dupe because there was no LE going around, everyone who had raw was hoarding it

I haven't been able to read the whole discussion, since its so long, but I have an idea.

This does require a few assumptions about how wynncraft works, so it probably won't work:
    1. Inventories are saved in some form of JSON or YAML file (i don't think that sql databases works well for inventories because of how NBT works). Either that or the .dat files used in vanilla
    2. Levels are stored separately in a database (i think this is correct, because the API exists, which wouldn't be easy with YAML or JSON, but Wynncraft is a server network, so idk)

If that is the case, which it might not be, then in theory could they rollback only banks and inventories, and keep guilds and player's xp untouched. Possibly. It might take a few days to make sure it works, which is really not ideal. And again, this is assuming how wynncraft works, so it might not be possible.

If it's all YAML or JSON, which is also possible those two file types are easy to replace one section with another. However, the sheer number of files (there's over a million unique players) would make it bound to mess up or just be impractical.

If they use something else, idk. These are only the 3 most common file types. They could easily be using something else, since spigot isn't limiting a whole lot in terms of data storage options.

Basically what I'm saying isn't that I know how to solve this, but I think that a partial rollback shouldn't be immediately ignored as an option until a dev or someone says otherwise.

If there are people with hundreds of stacks of le then even if they haven't spend much yet that sounds like an issue. I don't know if getting more items would be a good idea in this state (especially with roll back, might anger players more if they got a mythic :O)

First part was right, but second was very wrong. When prices are high, people lootrun since it's more profitable to do so. This leads to more items being put on the market and causes prices to fall. It's like you understand the first part of prices, but are conveniently forgetting how items come to be in this game. The entire games economy is based on inflation, so why would more inflation cause the markets to die?
