I would advise that you reach lvl 103 or something and have most quests completed before joining the ct, not because you would be incapable of doing well in the team, but because you will be exposed to spoilers that may make the game less fun.

oh shoot yeah good point, though i did recently join an SMP for youtube(please subscribe https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCdrQYx8pkYBYz9yJ2_LxyQA/videos) and have been alot less intruiged by joining the ct, though it is still a big deal for me. and about getting to lvl 100, I would definitley get on that, but im wating for someone to help me do bobs tomb, like someone that I know personally, you know? and yeah i really should get to that lvl before joining. but again this thread is pretty much just to get better at building, not particularly to get into the ct

Okay since you asked for feedback I'll give you some relatively harsh feedback. I don't intend to be rude or anything, I just think that the best way to learn stuff is to have your builds and all nitpicked

This terrain is not okay. I don't know what sort of tools or whatever you used for it, but it looks super super super messy and very boring. It's clear that you used Terraining Tool XYZ, put some grass/dirt over it and called it a day, rather than taking your time and smoothing it out then giving it some texture.
In comparison here's some very cool looking terrain
    [IMG]

Now, obviously your terrain doesn't have to be all swirly and shit to look cool, but I think there's a lot to learn from looking at other people's terrain. The most important thing for terrain like this is handsmoothing. You don't have to make all of your terrain by hand because that would be very time consuming, but once you finish the general shape of your terrain and /b bb or /smooth-ed it, you should handsmooth everything. Handsmoothed terrain in my opinion is extremely pleasing on the eyes, and is better for gameplay than terrain with weird lumps of blocks on it; if you look at yourt hill and to the left, you should see a little 2x2 bit sticking out that looks tremendously ugly and just sticks out like a sore thumb, stuff like that shouldn't be in your terrain if you want it to look good.
This is some more lowkey terrain and the texturing is not the best, but if you can learn to texture stuff more like this it'll still be a huge improvement. The main thing in my opinion is just finding blocks that go well together, like granite and terracotta in this case. They're similar enough to the point where you can use them next to teach other and it wouldn't look off, but they're different enough to provide some contrast to the build, and some spots that pop out the viewer, not just like.. lots of the same block with some stuff on top. I'm not the greatest terrainer in the world by all means so I'm not sure how coherent my advice is, but that's just my two cents on terraining.

Will write section for your houses later, but most of it is just that you use super boring blocks, that being just different types of wood and stone. There's no real spice to the houses, but the shape is generally good. Some stuff is also kinda overdetailed/slabspammed

thanks for the quick suggestions, and yeah that's what I've been mostly told, and again most of those were made ages ago, and im working on a new house for a building tutorial on youtube(just the basics of building which I've pretty much got down) and the pallet consists of blocks with way more colour, however im not sure if they are good ones(so before i actually edit the video ill send the picture). and yeah my over detailing is probably my biggest problem, which gets kinda annoying when im only making window frames(Whatever they're called i can remember) which really shouldn't. thanks for the answer and I'm looking forward to your criticisms.(also i didnt notice the terrain thing so thanks for the advice. theat specific build I was making for a youtube timelapse and had to finish it quickly, though I would have done it quickly either way, mostly because of impatience, so ill try to take that advice as much as i can.)

Overall quite a nice little cottage, but the terrain looks unnatural, and the fully cobblestone roof could use a bit of texturing. The chimney looks kind of weird with a really thin and then a thick section, and on the whole, the terrain just feels boring without anything to break it up.

Sorry if it sounds a bit harsh, but it's the truth, and as @Dwicey said, it's the best way to improve.

thanks for the advice, I assume when you say "fully cobblestone roof" you mean the framing of the roof, which yeah should definitely be changed. When it comes to the chimney, its not really a style that im used to building in, usually i would make it cobblestone(mixed with stone and andesite of course) and make it look really ruggid and not very clean looking, but it seemed to work pretty well. instead, this time I made it out of bricks(with granite and polished granite) and tried making it look more Victorian, which i don't really have very much experience doing. and when it comes to the terrian, i kinda just did what felt nice. i'm really bad when it comes to terrianing, so really anything that looked even slightly interesting was great for me. and unlike what you said, i really do like the way it turned out. maybe not the stuff thats directly on the house, but the background looks pretty noice if you ask me, but then again, it is mine so it is a little baised

I mean for the terrain there's a literal rectangle in the first.

ngl i have no idea what youre talking about(mostly becuase i cant zoom in) but yeah most likely, i wasnt able to go look over every single inch of the terrian, plus i transformed it in a non-flat world, so not everything made there was by me, though pretty much everything on the right side was. however the only things on the left were the little hill that came out for holding that tree, and some of the hill(starting maybe 2/3 up) that connects the little bridge thingy. overall terraforming is really not my strong point, so i dont expect many people (or really any) to be impressed by it.

nobody asked but i got another one... so... yeah.
keep in mind thought that i really didn't care about the land shape, so don't criticise that, i know its bad.

I'm late, and have no experience whatsoever with building, so my feedback probably doesn't have a lot of merit, but I really like how unique a shape the house has, the palette is adorable and it reminds me of an elf or fairy house, and I love the little curlicues on the edges of the rooves.

This actually looks really nice, and would fit really well in an elvish village. I'd recommend altering the flag (if it's a flag, I'm not too sure) so it looks like it's swaying in the wind. But overall, looks really great!

I don’t know anything about building, so my only advice is to listen and accept what advice builders give you, and learn and grow from it.

Good luck on your app! :)

I see that you're still active, so my advice is learn building the same way you learn coding. Don't be afraid to google stuff you don't know how to build, Grian has lots of helpful tutorials.
