Public Opinion On The New 1.20 Weapon Skins

I get why there was the need to make the earth weapons look more like the earth relik, but: bruh
Why change 4 weapons to better fit 1? No offense to who made the weapons and with all due respect, but I'm actually getting worried for the earth spear, the Rikter was a weapon that I bought for extremely cheap and since then I have grown attached to it, I ended up switching it for a slightly better Rikter but I still love and use it.
All of this overdramatization to say that I don't want such a magestic weapon to become a chonker

 

These are so much better. They feel much cleaner, and the textures are much better. However the shapes of the models themselves aren't all good. I liked the animations of air and lightning, but those seem to have been mostly removed. The earth spear is ok, but feels really short. I also noticed that leaves seem to be replaced with some sort of moss.

I like the new model but it kinda doesnt feel how it should. Also I dont understand why the earth spear needs to look similar than the earth relik. Nobody cares, we just want them to look cool

 

Hi all!

Taking in your feedback, and chatting with Kio about making some changes to the more drastic weapon model redos. I've got your feedback written down and I'm going to make changes that simultaneously satisfy you folks while keeping with the style of the pack. Lots of these changes were made the unify the style of the base weapon models, but there is definitely room for improvement. The air animation, especially, is something that should come back.

Mmmmm that sexy earth bow tho, that's one thing I won't complain about. It was definitely lacking before, looks fantastic now. And thank you for these models, but yeah personally I think most changes are kind of a downgrade? Water bow just seems like it lost all color to it and the rainbow weapons feel kind of dull being gray rather than brown. But air wand def looks like a pole rather than a wand, kind of lost it's curvature. And fire spear is C H O N K

Thanks again for your guys' hard work, I know this probably isn't helping with the update coming out smoothly but I figured since enough people were complaining about it I thought I should bring it up to see if others shared the same opinion, but I do like some of the new changes made! I feel like the color changing (especially with the rainbow dagger) is a lot more "extreme" than it was before, so I'm still sorta getting used to it

I'm not a huge fan, but a large part of that is that I've gotten used to everything over the years and they couldn't change them without at least some complaining on my part because "CHANGE BAD!!!". They were well done, and in some ways look better than before. I'm not a huge fan of the cartoony style some of them have, but that's just me. The only ones I really didn't like were the T3 fire spear (I think the head should be wider, right now it looks too small) and the T3 thunder wand (which just looked really cartoony, though that skin did really need some updating, so I can't complain too much there).

 

Yeah, I think the fire spear's blade is really awkward in size rn given the rest of it is a lot wider, but did they change the t3 thunder wand? Cause if they did I haven't seen it yet. But yes I agree that a lot of the reworks make it look more cartoonish rather than the kind of fantasy grand style they had before, which seems to be the opposite direction this server's theme is going, since lore is making wynn/gavel a lot darker than it first was

 

Who are all these people who like the new thunder spear? The old texture looked awesome, the new one looks like a fat stick with a plug on top. Its making me reconsider buying a Thrundacrack.

Who doesn't love a good chonky boi? Must be related to his brother, fire spear

 

I love the new weapon skins :D although I will say the bottom of the air wand is quite thick, id recommend making it a bit thinner
