Diamond Hydro Necklace Is Now Useless Bring Back +12 Int

    With HERO beta just being released we now get to see some of the changes that have occurred to items not listed with the item thread changes.

    And one of those changes was removing the +12 INT from Diamond Hydro Necklace, a Legendary Island accessory that prior to this change granted +120 water defense, +2/4 Mana Regen, +12 Intelligence, and +15% water def. Now we can see within HERO beta that the +12 Intelligence and +15% water defense were completely removed.

    This change is completely and utterly unneeded. Diamond Hydro Necklace wasn't overpowered and it's a solid all around item for spell builds. And with this change Diamond Hydro Necklace is now completely outclassed Contrast in every single way.

    What separated the two initially was that while Contrast provided a variety of benefits, but no skill point bonus which made it useful in build that already had an excess of skill points. However, now that Diamond Hydro Necklace has had it's skill points removed there is no point to use Diamond Hydro Necklace under any circumstance. Contrast now completely excels over Diamond Hydro in that on top of providing 2 Mana Regen, it also gives 900 HP, 150 Health Regen, 200 Life Steal, 15% Walkspeed, and 750 poison.

    I and many others in the Wynncraft community ask that this change be reverted entirely and that the +12 INT that Diamond Hydro Necklace possessed prior to this change be brought back.

    That's a visual glitch, if you check your compass you see you actually have 64 spell damage raw and 6% water damage alongside the mana regen and reflection - it was changed from a stupid sp slap with stupid high mana regen to a mana regen plus damage option for water builds, which is an understandable change considering the slapabilty of the previous design.

    It's also received damage IDs. 64 raw spell and like 6% spell from what we can see so far.

    Even so, it should still be reverted to the it's previous state. The purpose of it as a 2/4 necklace is that gives skill point slap since Contrast already fills the role otherwise.

    dhy was previously pretty unhealthy
    even if you argue it wasn't op, reasonable alternatives are pretty scarce for spellspam

    also contrast costs the master hive slot which im not sure every build wants to pay

    I think that the nerf to hydro was a bit much. I think that instead of raw spell they should have gone with all water damage % so that it doesnt favor raw spell classes as much.
    with its 12 intel as it was it allowed you to obtain the ability to use aquarius with just one intel booster and hit 114 intel with it and moonpool. Personally I think that nerfing the intel down to 6 or 8 would be a much more justified change as I don't think hydro is as busted as people say it is but rather over used (I only got diamond hydro on one of my 12 builds all of which are intel spell based)

    I think if this had come with the eventual accessory rebalancing it probably would make more sense, but as it is it's kind of just needlessly shifting the meta around without really changing anything.

    While discussing intelligence sp availability & intelligence reqs, DHydro Necklace basically jumped in as being ridiculously high and easy intelligence to gain. In fact, you can just use it as a pretty easy best-in-slot for nearly any spell build- so the intelligence was taken off entirely, and changed to an otherwise very lacking niche of raw spell on necklaces.
    As for Contrast outperforming it: Yeah, it's a Master Hive item, it should be a step above other items in its slot- and it really doesn't clash with DHydro in use, aside from a single id.

    For clarity's sake (OP had Wynntils bug out on them), the change made is:

    Diamond Hydro Necklace

    Intelligence: 12 -> 0
    Raw Spell Damage: 0 -> 64
    Water Damage: 0 -> 6
    Water Defense: 15 -> 0

    damn that durum serenity buff looks awfully cool, I just wish the other dHydro werent already dmg dealers

    I'm a bit annoyed by the change, but am ultimately fine with there being a change (not so much removing all of the +Int, but something). What I don't like is how many unannounced changes were made to items, what is the item thread there for if not to test and inform people of what the changes are?

    This is one of the worst item changes I've seen. My only hope is that this is some elaborate scheme were they make a change so outrageously idiotic that when they revert the change, nerfing the necklace to instead only have 1/4 mana regen, so that the community is less outraged than they would have been had Dia Hydro Necklace been nerfed straight to 1/4 mr.

    it's best-in-slot not as much bc it's op, but bc viable alternatives don't exist. losing the sp is fine if other necklaces could take up dhy's role in the slot, but necklaces now seem to be considerably weaker than other accessory slots (intensity, yang, bcata, okr, draoi, deye, dhy brace).

    Is max effective intel supposed to be a hard thing to achieve? Sure, you can always use some SP slap like Anamesis or smth, but you would have to actually sacrifice many things in order to get that 147 (or 129 on mage).
    Another thing: the necklace is an important slot. Who's gonna use that slot for a measly 64 raw spell? On mage, 64 raw spell translates to 320 damage, and on other classes even less (except archer but archer's base damages make focusing on raws pell laughable). Turning dHydro into this is probably just gonna make it a sad item only necessary if you require extra mana. 6% water damage isn't a lot either, and removing the intel makes dHydro feel like some CSST dungeon reward that you could easily get hundreds of from the tokens of the good old days of CSST glory, and not the "Legendary Challenge" item its supposed to be. Sure, LI isn't too hard for most of us, but... come on, dHydro will probably just become forgotten and sealed in the last page of everyone's banks.
    If you truly must remove the intel (I mean, you could just lower it to like 7 rather than dropping it completely), at least make the water damage % greater or the raw spell not absolute garbage.

    edit: new dhydro is just royal stormy but 1 more mr while having 100 int req
