SPOILER When Do You Think Gavel Reborn Hero Beta Will Come Out?

Pause Menu -> Options -> Chat Settings -> Set chat to commands only. Just tested it and it shows all game dialogue while blocking most chat. That said, you will still see shouts since they're using a command to work but at least you'll be able to block any random spoilers you hear from normal people in towns and stuff.

edit 2: as i expected it doesnt block playerghosts since they are commands too. just hope they add a silence shouts command in the update so i can use that

lol I think that would defeat the purpose of shouts in the first place.

Also, based on the wiki it says it was added in 1.3.1, which I don't think is right, but I was like 90% sure it worked in 1.12.x.

 

So I guess hero beta is never coming out because of this.

It wouldn't matter since a few people would still think he's joking (Which is fine), or people would be thinking "I'd rather have a good Hero beta then a shitty one" (Which is fine), or people would just ignore it (Which is also fine), or otherwise people would troll (Which isn't fine imo) because anyway there's more to why I want to see this challenge happen (Which is if it could actually work).

 

That's not the point. The point was to block shouts from people trying to leak spoilers while still being able to play normally, like do quests. Blocking chat prevents chat from being visible at all

If you are on the beta server it's likely that you don't care about spoilers about the update, considering you are playing it. Otherwise i don't see any reason why you couldn't use wynntils on normal servers

 

Any means of blocking shouts would be against the server rules since the whole point of a shout is that everybody sees it, I just pointed that out to block out all player chat. When set to commands only all quest dialogue is there, just not player dialogue when you walk into towns and stuff. It's not perfect, but it's the best it's going to get.
