Releasing The Hero Beta By Force

So recently on the discord salted said this:



now salted seems to have the same attitude with this as he did with the 3am twitter retweet thing.
If we all work together, we may be able to do this successfully.

Now, the player count on the mc server is approximately a sin graph.

we just need to find what time the server is at lowest activity and schedule with the community, a time where all chatting is in other channels. from the graph(and the time I am making this), it seems that the minimum is at about 6 am EST.

I propose we try to stay silent in #general at 5-6am EST, on Friday, December 4th

 

Wishful thinking.

I will be leading a counter force to rebel against this idea, as the HERO Beta does not effect me in any way.

You'll have to constantly announce it in #general as well, otherwise the people who don't frequent the Forums won't participate

 

I'm gonna be honest - Salted probably just said that to get everyone to stop talking. Making sure a beta is stable is much harder than making sure a changelog is grammatically correct - it'll be up when it's up, not because the community did some challenge.

 

i mean yea we'll release the beta but just before that every dev will rig the code so that you immediately crash upon joining and then we'll take it down and just continue as we were

Wish it'd be that easy but no. It's not just because it would be literally impossible to pull something like this off, since there's always one guy who messes it up (plus the record was only 8 minutes), but I don't think hero beta would even be ready by that point. Like people above said writing a changelog is very different from making a hero beta. So yea I don't think this will happen. Patience is key, I'm 90% certain the beta will come out this weekend anyways

 

Except it is really not, because some things will get stale because of this. "Why should we do it, 1.20 will propably mess it up anyways..."

This happened on the wiki discord (even Wynn lore is not really discussed), wiki too, also guilds I guess...

We don't need the beta, we need information

But the faster the beta comes out the faster bugd can get patched and the faster the update can be released

 

Ngl I hope the HERO Beta is delayed so I can level up my archer more and study for my finals :3
