Armor Giving Damage?

I dont know why but if i put my winters essence on i take damage. can anyone explain this to me pleas?

 

It's probably because the armor has negative health regen, which will chip away at your health until it reaches 1 hp

 

yeah i tought that to but if i put on my dead sands that have -38 health regen than i t doesnt happen.

(my winters essence has -37 health regen btw.)

 

Dead Sands' negative health regen is a percentage, which means it only affects the raw health regen stat. For example, if I had a chestplate with +100 raw health regen, and wore dead sands, which has -38% health regen, I would effectively have +62 health regenerating per interval. However, if I didn't have any armor with raw health regen, but still had the dead sands, there would be no effective health regeneration (other than what happens naturally), so my health wouldn't be draining away. Now if I had winter's essence with -37 raw health regen and dead sands with -38% health regen, you'd have -37*1.38 = -51.06 effective health regen, meaning you lose 51 hp per interval.
