Anyway wanna continue on DC or shall we spam this thread since it seems we have a lot of colliding opinions.

 

Why has nobody spoken of Hephaestus-Forged sabatons

It gives a whopping 5400hp, along with 4ms and 500ls along with -40% 3rd spell cost (+25% ws and some ele damages/def% but they're not as relevant)

Just the sheer amount of survivability it gives is enough to make it a good piece of armor, and then -40% 3rd spell cost is added onto it to make this armor extremely powerful. Yes, its usage in 0int (or negative int) builds may have decreased slightly with the appearance of Flashing Boots (pog unique boots btw), but Heph still reigns as a powerful item because of the amount of survivability it offers along with the -40% spell cost. It's so good that it's worth using in a lot of quad / rainbow builds while cancelling out the -30str and -30int.

Yes, Slayer exists, but first of all Slayer is a mythic boot, and secondly Slayer gives -200ish hpr, which means you're either going to have to use up another item slot to cancel out the -hpr, or just use it on a mage/shaman but even then the -hpr can still get very annoying. Meanwhile Heph gives huge boosts to all elements of sustain (hp ms ls) without any particular downsides.

 

I feel like koh needs an honourable mention here for its use as a budget warp and insane support usage. Also mpc and the ornate gear too.

If you're looking for my actual thoughts though, easily Old Keepers Ring, it's best in slot sustain, with very little sacrifice, and no sp req. It can turn the most sustainless build into a health juggernaut.
(Granted the ring slot is very competitive, okr is just my pick as the most "op")

They're nerfing Therck's Chain so it's not stupidly overpowered in the upcoming update. Right now, making one Therck set (requires completing Enzan's Brother 36 times) sets you up for the first thirty levels of the game.

 

But already crafted Therck sets will still be godlike right?

 

No, crafted items get their stats updated automatically once their ingredients do so
