Orphion Bossfight Speculation

We know Orphion, the deer-fox creature at the end of the gavel reborn trailer, is going to be a bossfight. Currently we know 3 things about him.

1. Orphion is the light beast, the direct counterpart to the Dern Beast we see in the SE Discoveries.

2. Orphion is most likely going to be a raid boss, as the trailers show a light-looking dungeon with a "darkness crystal" scene.

3. Orphion is infected with either darkness or corruption that turns him evil. Or some other method of him becoming a big bad. Why else would we fight him?

We don't know the standard difficulty of raid bosses as we barely even know what they are. However, seeing as he is the ultimate incarnation of light, he's gonna be pretty damn strong. Now, Selvut mentioned a while back that they were adding an incredibly strong and terrifying boss. I have reason to suspect that Orphion is going to be that boss.

What will the fight be like? I'm curious to see your speculations and memes.

 

Alright, theorizing time

1. Orphion is an armor stand model, and quite a large one. Seeing the position in the trailer, I suspect that Orphion will use a lot of ranged attacks while staying stationary, like the eye
2. Orphion = Light. Either we are getting a new element (Light) and its opposite (Darkness), or most of the attacks will be thunder based
3. Also on the topic of light: Light is fast. I expect large amounts of rapid attacks dealing low damage
4. Orphion is corrupted in some way. I can't remember exactly how, but that is why we are battling them. If we take the theory above that the darkness is infecting him, then we can expect him to deal Darkness damage (if light damage gets added.
5. Sevult mentioned that not only is the mystery boss incredibly strong, but it is also a cruel boss fight. You know what's cruel? Nullifying damage. But what's even more cruel is absorbing and then reflecting damage Definitely not Yang. This is a raid, so it is supposed to be done in groups. If you soloed it, you would probably die from all your damage being reflected at you. But with a group, you share the damage and therefore do not die

I'm pretty sure that we aren't meant to kill orphion, rather kill the succoru that infect him.

 

It can still be a hard bossfight. At least I hope.

 

I'm assuming that we're not gonna be able to fight Orphion directly. it'll probably be a boss fight based around killing certain entities (dark crystals, corrupted mobs) while Orphion hits you with spells. If that's how it works, maybe each player needs to individually kill the entity, which would help with the multiplayer part of raids.

For the cruel part, I remember that there was a thread on a new "painful" boss fight with the update, and I suggested that the boss just spammed push and charged. Maybe there's a parkour segment to the fight where Orphion can just fucking push you, or maybe he charges and knocks you off the platforms.

 

What I don’t get about that though is that if the boss is supposed to be extremely difficult, I’d think it would be at least level 90+. Though currently the Realm of Light quests are in the level 60s and 70s. So it would seem odd to have the hardest boss in the game be a three-quarters of the way through it.

 

I mean if we are to assume that this picture:

is of Orphion's raid, it shows players with full diamond gear, which seems to indicate higher levels
(except pepo who is wearing a leather chest plate for some reason. The color leads me to believe that this is probably cosmic vest)
However, the person in the background (can't make out name) is wearing iron leggings so I don't really know

 

It might be one of the sky chef aprons. Likely the hamsey’s variant since it’s also teal/aqua and gives ok sp and regens

 

I still think that it will be a challenge, but I'm just saying that we might be speculating about the wrong enemy.

 

I think that it could be some sort of survival/bullet hell battle, seeing as damaging Orphion is not the goal

 

I just hope that he wont spam charge spell, I hate it SO MUCH

About the level thing, thinking about the RoL in its current version isn't probably going to be accurate to how Gavel Reborn is gonna do it. If they really wanted to overhaul the realm of light then it'll probably be nothing like how it is right now. So it might be higher level, maybe there will be multiple different regions with different levels, etc. Or maybe raid bosses will scale with level like how they're doing dungeons. Who knows.

 

what we DO know, is that we're gonna get some epic boss music this update...

 

The multiple regions theory makes sense. Seeing as Orphion is the counterpart of the dern beast, it would make sense for levels to scale up until you reach Orphion.

 

Hopefully this makes a use for the Nowhere in Particular music on XavierEXE's channel...
