So, we all are excited for the new update. The housing meme came true, we finally got a guild update and Gavel Dungeons with a different name. But something is weird.

If we look closely, we can see that the forest near Gelibord (shown in the trailer at 0:36) is green. Flowers grow around it (even near the graveyard wtf) and the trees look alive and healthy. At 0:45 we see a picture of a housing island above Olux. And behind lies the dark Olux swamp. Exept, this isnt the swamp. Its a healthy, green looking forest.

I dont know what happened and why this forest looks green and healthy, but it should be dead and dark. What happened? Salted, please tell me you didnt delete my beloved swamp.

very interesting observation, I don't think the decay has been removed cause that would cause some very major problems lore wise, hopefully it's just the trailer's shaders

    I don't think it's just the shaders.
While it's hard to know exactly what part of Olux the trailer shows, it seems distinctly different from the current one, maybe even in layout, not just block choice.

It could just be the shaders, but it's hard to tell. Only thing that I really notice as being different are the weird pink and blue spots on the ground in the trailer, but that's not really evidence that they revamped the swamp or anything.
    Nice looking olux.PNG
    Normal looking olux.png
I don't have shaders on, but the front entrance is very different in the two images. The overgrown house seems to have moved and changed orientation, for one thing, and there doesn't seem to be much in the way of a wall in the new one, which is strange if the decay is raising monsters to attack Olux. Again, it's hard to tell which area of Olux it shows in the trailer, but judging from the clay ledge (north side of olux) seen on the far right, I think it's reasonable to assume it shows the south entrance too. I would say that this could be part of a quest, but the housing wouldn't be there if it was. Of course, I could just be looking at this wrong and maybe it really is shaders and texture pack, but it doesn't seem like it.

Edit: Okay, on closer inspection it seems like it is, in fact, a different section of Olux in the trailer.
    other normal olux.png
I'm honestly not sure now, it might be different but it's hard to know if it's just the shaders and rp that make it look nice, especially since there's no way to get the actual angle from the trailer. I don't know if there's any way to know for sure besides going to Olux and inspecting each block shown in the trailer compared to the ones on the server.
At this point, I'd guess they just put on a nice-looking resource pack and shaders for this so the trailer looked better, especially since plenty of the buildings still have vines all over them, but again, I don't really know.

Healty Gavel would probably not have a housing island... but maybe you are right

If Decay would be removed I would be really angry. Its lore is quite nice, but could be propably expanded further

If you look closely at that image, specifically the two trees next to each other on the left (next to the mound of dirt) the red mushroom has moved. Then if you look, all of the mushrooms have moved.

Clearly, Y̶a̶h̶y̶a̶ ̶h̶a̶s̶ ̶i̶n̶v̶a̶d̶e̶d̶ ̶O̶l̶u̶x̶ they've just adjusted the map because the most of it looks the same but there are subtle differences.

Now, call me crazy but I wouldn't just redo the map to move a couple mushrooms, but mainly to make it a bit lighter considering the light avatar, Oriphon, is back? (end of trailer, text on the logo says The Realm of Light like seriously keep up) Now that, just maybe.

tbh Decay sucks lorewise so honestly I wouldn't mind if it were retconned out, only thing I'd miss is Kander Forest

    I would miss Memory.
It's probably the best part of that bit of lore.
Frankly, the decay felt like a bit of an excuse to not come up with something more unique.
Instead of focusing on the fantasy elements, or focusing a lot of the narrative on the light, it ends up being a corruption rip off.
I understand that the corruption and the decay aren't literally the same thing, but they serve the same purpose:
A force taking over the region, that needs to be stopped.

Me too. I love the Swamp, the Dark Forest and the (hopefully redone) Kander Forest.
But we all have to admit that Wynn has some strange lore:
We have 3 different forces in 3 different provinces: Decay (clash between Light and Dark), Corruption (the same but different??) and the Dernic Force (Silent Expanse) which gets described as different than the corruption... (is it the same clash of Light and Dark again but different or...)

That makes no sense to me... its basically always a clash of Light and Dark but its always different for some reason.

Afaik it is caused by Succoru parasites from Dern (which was allowed by Light getting weaker (which was caused by villager's grees))

Clash of Light and Dark influences.

It might be the off map areas for housing will have a different biome setting, since they don't want your housing grass and leaves to be the ugly swamp colors.

    Actually yeah, this makes sense.
They could have just made it for the trailer, but it seems like it's not the actual Olux with a different resource pack - the citizens and guards you can see in normal Olux aren't there in the trailer. And considering that you'll have the same house(s) for every city, it could very much ruin it to make your plot all gray and stuff in two major cities.
