    Here are my speculations and thoughts on raids because I have nothing better to do right now.

    Anyone else a bit split on them? I can appreciate new Gavel content, however the fact these absolutely require multiple people worries me a little, because I feel like group activities in wynn (like Eldritch Outlook) can be a lot more difficult to organise and actually do, cus plenty of players wanna solo.

    But more importantly, the fact that the ones shown off seem to be taking place in hypothesised dungeon entrances, could imply that these are going to fully replace dungeons in Gavel. Some may doubt that but I think it's very possible that Wynn will have original dungeons and Gavel will begin to have original raids.

    Screenshots like that really feel like this takes place in the Grootslang caverns, with the presence of Olux mud and a bunch of holes on the left wall. I really dig the caverns as a dungeon idea so hopefully it will translate well in a multiplayer challenge.

    This screenshot however really confuses me. The only thing I feel like it will connect to is the realm of light story line or something to do with the light/dark forests. The fact there is a darkness crystal is a pretty good indication this will relate to light and dark in some way, maybe a raid unlocked during the possibly reworked finding the light questline?

    Pretty useless commentary but I'm bored. I'll see you all in the magical shrooms dimension.

    Why would they fully replace dungeons in Gavel? The update clearly shows that the dungeons are still gonna be around (forgery chest, level scaling dungeons).

    Also making them require multiple people is a smart move since it encourages people to join guilds, which would probably also make more people involved in the new guild changes.

    So help me god if raids are actually difficult and require multiple people and then become solo able because people bitch, I’m gonna lose it.

    Agh yes I agree. I just hope that there's some in game party matchmaker where people can join the raid from different servers and form a party that way. That would probably help stop the "pls make it soloable" comments.

    I quite like the idea of multiplayer challenges that are meant to be quite difficult, and according to the website they are somewhat randomized in the challenges, which is interesting.
    also, theres currently 3 raids that have been revealed:
    1.) the stone protector dude in CoTL(confirmed)
    2.) Orphion(assumed, since it really looks like it and RoL is getting an upgrade)
    3.) the Grootslang, (ehh not entirely sure on this one but it seems like it since the caverns.)

    "Muiltplayer content?!??! How unacceptable in my MMO."

    Mind you, its optional muiltplayer content.
    That's the big thing here. EO, Bob, and ??? Are all required in order to do quest, which is the big reason in my mind that it doesn't work. Raids, dungens, and boss alters are all optional, "Besides EO"

    I think I know what you wanted to say. You beleave that there wont be any "real" Gavel Dungeons (Dungeons that arent just corrupted Wynn Dungeons) but instead those raids.
    Yes, 100% yes. Thats what I think will happen. Gavel wont have real Dungeons, but those raids. I think thats actually a good thing. Raids could be a lot of fun and something different (the temporary effects for example) but still somewhat like Dungeons

    Yeah man, my bad on not being perfectly clear. I just think these will be a kinda replacement for original gavel dungeons. I also agree that raids replacing dungeons in gavel might be a great change. I'm sure the gameplay variety (even if it's only a little different to dungeons) will be nice for players who have finished the game over and over again.

    Someone already said it, but if they added some kind of party finder or matchmaking, it would make multiplayer content a lot more accessible. The main issue with stuff like this is finding other people to do it with you, but if that's done automatically, I don't think the needing multiple people is that big of a problem.

    Does Gavel have any dungeons to begin with (besides forgery) or are you talking about speculated dungeons? Haven't been here for awhile so idk if people were speculating new Gavel dungeons. Imo though, if Raids are Gavel's form of dungeons, that's not a bad thing. From what I read, raids sound like they're gonna be "dungeons 2.0," the main differences being multiplayer requirement, random generation, and temporary buffs. I don't see what's so bad about having one or the other.

    dungeons which have been confirmed to be originally planned for gavel but cancelled, like the mortal mountain which theres a bunch of screenhots of from the content team. I also agree that raids replacing dungeons is a good thing, not a bad thing. I must have come across incorrectly, as I really enjoy the idea of raids, it's simply multiplayer that puts me off. I'm sure a remixed dungeon formulae will add some fresh gameplay!

    Matchmaking/party finder would basically fix all the problems that people have with a multiplayer requirement. The other thing is that it doesn’t seem like any content is locked behind raids, so it’s not like people need to complete the raids to finish all quests or anything. That was the real problem people had with the eye, since for less skilled players it’s hard to solo the eye.

    To be quite honest, I would love raids to become soloable, but like near impossible to do so. Or if not, have the other people in our party be "carried" in a sense that you still need them to progress required group work but you are the damage dealer while they sit and watch (wall hugger moment). Either way, both needs to be near impossible to do by yourself.

    I really hope there's some sort of matchmaking in-game to make it easier to find groups.

    I see. The way I usually go about leaks and stuff is "everything is subject to change and can be canceled." I've never been too bothered about announced projects being canceled as long as there's good reasoning behind it or we get something better in return.

    Fair enough. I'm also a solo player, so multiplayer content is gonna be difficult for me if I don't find a guild or something (if matchmaking isn't added), though I guess that could be a good thing. Promoting player interaction and joining guilds isn't necessarily bad, and it'll give upcoming players a reason to involve themselves in a community.

    I hope raids aren't exclusively multiplayer. Just make it far more difficult to do solo. That way raids can encourage team based strategy while also being able to have clout for soloing raids.

    Also if raids only drop tomes (which they probably don't) then they'll essentially be a recreational mode rather than a dungeon-esc. I get that EO works like that too, but it'd be cool if raids could drop good loot consistently like Legendaries.

    Raids are essentially confirmed to be multiplayer only and tombs are only for use in the raid, not a drop from raids. As for drops, in all likelihood, raids will have either a raid shop or rare drops for completion, sorta like some dungeons. That last part is just speculation though.

    I thought that tomes were for permanent buffs to the character and the raid buffs were the things in the picture like Intrepid I, Giant I, etc.

    We saw a mythic tome which gave a flat +25% damage bonus which lines up with what the raid buffs are, if you gave that to a player in the regular world it would be the most broken item in the game.

    Yeah I’m sure they’ll be changed in the beta, but on the raid section on wynncraft.com/1.20 it says that tomes will drop from raids

    Since 25% would be too broken for some, would something like 10% or maybe even 5% be a more reasonable value?
